What can brown do for you

Louisville, KY

The International Brotherhood of Teamster -treasurer Ken Hall sent local 89 a letter stating the IBT has sent incorrect ballots to Air District Workers. Therefore IBT is now requiring you to vote again. Corrupt? I ask the question bc a non vote or a missing vote is considered a yes vote. An easy way to get the contract passed without the union members being heard or properly informed of the huge mistake. Also this same union increased its union dues to 2 and a 1/2 times your hourly rate, this increase should have never happened to part time employees! this increase was set Nationally for full time employees not partime. When 43% of UPS's work force is under 25 and misinformed about the union and what it means to have a say, a vote on the future of there job status. The new contract has an increase in starting pay for those hired in the future to compete with GE, Ford, and Amazon ( a must to get people to work 15 hrs a week ). But low pay increases for employees who have years of service. The new contract has significant changes in Health Care ( the reason most people work there) and the best part is part time for life. Currently you have to be with UPS 17+ years to qualify ( bid opportunity) for a full time job in the union Air District, the new contract will make 50 full time jobs over the next 5 years. This same company recorded record profits. This contract has to be voted down a No vote is the only thing that will get your voice heard.

Local 89 has gone to BAT for its members on the 2013 SUBTRACT. That's all the company has managed to do is try to TAKE, TAKE, and TAKE. UPS time to PUT your MONEY where your MOUTH IS!!!!!!!!

Yea, right. Teamsters go to bat for TEAMSTER heirarchy. You need to sell that load to someone that wasn't a teamster. Because of which I would never be a union member again. Extortionists, no more, no less. And the members get the worst end of the stick.

I have been told UPS is trying to do what Ford and Kroger did years ago. They are willing to keep wages high for those that are working there but all the new hires will get screwed. The union brothers are being asked to sell out future workers while protecting their own rears. The rank and file are saying "Hell no". They may be on strike at the end of July because both sides are far apart.

Believe what you want. You seem to be too convinced to know better and I'm too old to be deceived anymore. Been there, done that. Good luck with that loyalty.

UPS makes enough profit to take care of the people that makes it for them . What's sad is corporations are so greedy and corrupt we even haft to have unions. All corporations can afford to pay hard workers more and show some appreciation. From Walmart to McDonald's.

No. Unions make it possible for every lazy pussy non working piece of shit to tie up a potentially good job that an actual GOOD worker should have. Your unions have never done anything for me and damn sure not teamsters. My job isn't dependent upon that shit. And thanks, I do make a fine salary and I earn every penny and no, no bullshit representative gets a nickel. Corporations should compensate more fairly, but they're hog tied into putting up with deadbeats because of contract agreements. Can't blame them too much for not being more thoughtful, but in most cases they're dealing with adversaries instead of contributing associates. No, I've never been a scab, but I would cross that line in. Half a second to feed my family. I don't need a union, my contributions carry me. Most employees don't know the meaning of integrity, thus their jobs need to be protected by their representatives. You don't need to agree with me. File a grievance.

You respond angrily. Why so defensive? I haven't attacked you and have no need to. I am not your adversary and I'm not the entity taking advantage of you. If teamsters works for you, so be it. I'm awake and have learned bullshit after having been fed it for so long by those covering my back. You'll learn too. Unless you happen to be one of those valued contributors that I referred to earlier, in which case you're sold and have been bought cheap. Let's see. Now who would be your choice for president? Bet I already know. Just saying. Good luck. Carry that card. It makes ALL the difference.

And for what it's worth, better a scab than a teamster. I would hire a scab.
