Actually the Americans are warned not to go anywhere until they figure out where the hell they are going at the moment.

On the other hand it may be a "health warning" because we don't need the "swine flu" in Sri Lanka.

China and India are emerging powers, whose fate is undeniably linked to that of the West.

Where will China export its goods, if no one in US has the money to buy plastics in Walmart? Same goes for India. Whose back office will Bangalore be?

I think BRIC and West are equally dependent on each other.

I think US warning is two-fold: excuse not to take LTTE off the terrorist list and delay investments in Sri Lanka.

They are not there yet. They are rising powers, and anything can happenwhile they rise. There will be no single most super power like US in the future. There will be many regional powers.

I didn't realize you're turning out to be a 'prophet' like Elias!

Shouldn’t you be talking about 'The Kingdom' rather than ‘super-powers’ so we all can really distinguish you as a prophet. Man, I'm intrigued!

Many have ignored Brazil and others who are equally steaming forward. Srilankans are hoping that when India and China rise somehow it is going to trickle down on them. But Srilanka missed the Globalization train ten years ago, it ain't coming bake to take them.

BRIC is Brazil, Russia, India and China.

The way I see it, West is the engine and emerging states are the coaches. When engine stalls, coaches can't move forward. China and India may be powerful, but without a market for their exports, they are useless.

As you say, not all the world's people are on board that train. Sri Lankans, for example, missed it while preoccupied with efforts to keep Tamils off it.
