"Christie, for his part, wants voters to decide the issue with a public question on the November ballot."

OK, then what about allowing voters to decide whether black Americans can legally marry white Americans ? Or allowing voters to decide whether Hindu Americans can legally marry Protestant Americans ? Or......

Christie wants the voter's to decide so that he doesn't have to and therefore he can show his supporters that he hasn't let them down and will continue to be the sort of candidate they are looking for in a Presidential hopeful!!!

I say if Christie feels that way....then let the voter's vote on EVERYONE'S right to marry.....straights, Blacks, Whites, Gays, Lesbians, Bisexuals and so forth.......that way, everyone has the same ability to define marriage for everyone else!!!

The court ordered marriage equality 7 years ago !!!

It hasn't happened yet. I don't see how the court can accept Christie's argument.

So after 2 years we're STILL only at the Superior Court level?

Seems everyone is waiting for someone else to resolve this.

-Christie is hoping a vote of the people lets him off the hook.

-The legislature is hoping the courts will let them off the hook.

-The state courts are hoping the federal courts will let them off the hook.

-And the federal courts hope everyone else lets them off the hook.
