" $15,000 catering bill for the 2011 wedding of McDonnell's daughter.

McDonnell says that previously went unreported because Virginia law only requires state elected leaders to disclose gifts to themselves, not family members. "

That's right, Bob wuz gonna make his daughter pay.

Wait. Hold on. You mean to tell me that a politician blatantly caught in the wrong is denying it strenuously? NO! THAT CANNOT BE!

Sure, Bobby Blowdry. Companies give tens of thousands of dollars to politicians because it doesn't earn them preferential treatment. This smells any way you look at it.

The rest of the story:

Gov Bobbie signed off on the $15,000 catering bill for his daughter's wedding, then bragged about giving her such an elaborate event.

When he was questioned about this story, Bobbie amended it by stating publicly that his daughter and her husband paid for the wedding and party. He just signed the catering contract.

More questioning brought on the latest version that is now being floated. He signed the catering contract, and Jonnie paid the $15,000 dollar catering bill.

He is right, a family member can receive gifts, within reason. But when a campaign contributor pays for a contract a politician took responsibility for? When an additional $7,000 gift was given to the Gov. for no apparent reason, and neither was disclosed as is demanded by law? A contributor who gave $100,000 to a campaign, and expected nothing in return? Common, give me a break.

Oh, Cooch received a "Gift" also. And only claimed it as a gift on his disclosure forms after being found out. Guess who gave him that gift. Right. Jonnie.

At least he was born in America!
Think of the millions, no billions that the Obumas have stolen from the citizens of the U.S.A., for vacations, dinners, golf, and payoffs.
Bob has done one heck of a job for Virginia. This is part of the conspiracy to discredit Bob for 2016.
God help Virginia if Mcauliffe rapes Virginia. The parasite will bankrupt our State, which is part of the Obuma plan to destroy the U.S.

McDonnell is a bad example for all rights, much less women's rights. He has no credibility with any women. We need a better person in office.

How many days did Bush vacation during his two terms? How about Reagan? I will bet you Bush spent a great more time between his Crawford ranch and Camp David than Obama has on vacation and golf. As for McDonnell for 2016, no chance. He doomed himself with his vaginal probe. He won't be anywhere near the national stage.

No he's been caught with his hands in the cookie jar. We have no idea what else he's been getting away with.

Why do we always minimize any transgression?

Why do we bash Republicans/Democrats?

Taking kick backs, favors, preferential treatment is always at the tax payers expense. It's STEALING!!!!!!!!! Practically all our representatives are doing this and yet there's no accountability.

Good for the FBI. Let them do their job and let the DOJ prosecute these crooks whether they are Democrats or Republicans, they're stealing from American pockets. We should have more whistleblowers!

" the money was a straight-out contribution to the governor, who signed the catering contract."
.
Judge Judy would laugh Bob out of the room.
.
"Then it turned out that Mr. Cuccinelli, the presumptive Republican candidate for governor, somehow suffered a multi-pronged amnesia attack that led him not to report more than $5,000 in contributions from Mr. Williams, owner of a firm that makes dietary supplements. Among other things, the money paid for Mr. Cuccinelli’s summer vacation last year; a catered Thanksgiving dinner in 2010 for the attorney general and his family; and a flight to New York.
.
Mr. Cuccinelli, he finds himself in a rapidly thickening ethical morass related to the whistle-blower who first alerted federal and state authorities to the McDonnell-Williams back-scratching. In what appears to be a flagrant conflict of interest, Mr. Cuccinelli — who has counted on Mr. Williams for gifts and travel and Mr. McDonnell for political support — gave the green light to embezzlement charges against the whistle-blower, Todd Schneider, former top chef at the Executive Mansion.

Here we have the attorney general of Virginia, who aspires to be governor, prosecuting the chief tormentor of two of his most important patrons. That’s not just a failure of common sense on Mr. Cuccinelli’s part; it’s an ethical lapse.
.
Under pressure, Mr. Cuccinelli announced Friday afternoon — when relatively few were likely to notice — that his office would now recuse itself from the embezzlement case against Mr. Schneider. He used the flimsy excuse that a former employee of the Executive Mansion, who might be a witness in the Schneider case, is now a fundraiser for his gubernatorial campaign — a fact known to Mr. Cuccinelli for months."

It would be interesting to know whether Williams filed a federal gift tax form with his 2012 1040 on that $15,000. The maximum that an individual could give to another was $13,000 in 2012 without triggering the need to file a gift-tax form for the excess amount. He can't claim that it was for both the daughter and her husband because the money would have had to go directly to them; paying the bill is the same as giving to a single recipient.
