There are more important issues , no doubt.. But David Cameron must be congratulated for not budging .. Men of his fiber are always rare ..

Of course the Tories look bad. England supports same-sex marriage decisively. And Tory MP's alone tried to stop it. More MP's voted against than voted for marriage equality. They carried on a public food fight.

It would probably have been worse for the Tories if the fight had been forced upon them by a Labor government.
