Actually it was understood that nation without spiritual guidance of the Creator that gives us our natural right our God given rights would never last as a republic. That we would never live as we should live, free and independent. That's why it is dead.
And I agree with you on all of that except for your last sentence.

Just because I don't follow the herd mentality of some Christians doesn't mean I'm trying to remove any spiritual guidance from our nation. Part of my freedom in this Republic is to worship my Creator as I see fit. As long as that causes no physical or material or legal harm to someone else.

Those that have no control in their own lives have an irrational impact on others physically, spiritually, morally, and financially. They are all so very hard to deal with.
But what does any of that have to do with two stable gay or lesbian people wanting to get married?

Oh wait.

No member of clergy can be compelled by the government to solemnize a Ame Sex Marriage.

It's a civil issue not a religious one. If the couple want it to be religious then join a church that supports it.

The point is it's religious discrimination for the government to NOT recognize as a marriage a same sex couple, since churches do now offer it.

It's one of those rights I think Amendment 9 was meant for.

I see Amendment 9 as a built in stabilizer. How to balance civil rights with government laws and the right to privacy.

<quoted text>My point is I don't take any of the writings of Paul as "God's Word". They are his approved opinions of what he believed for that culture at that time.
They are inspiring and contain several wise ideas. But they aren't the Word of God. They are simply part of the Bible.
I would say exactly what you are saying...if I wanted to pick and choose what I wanted to believe concerning the bible. Look, GOD HAS preserved his word (which only makes sense) and the guy who wrote 2/3 of the new Test. IS NO ACCIDENT...lol :)

<quoted text>?????What, uh, whay Paul writes (INSPIRED BY GOD BY THE WAY) is a tightly, incredibly licid straight pathway of the gospel OF JESUS Christ. So, back to the title, African American pastors SHOULD BE AGAINST SAME SEX MARRIAGE.
He plagiarized (blatantly) most of it from Plato, the Stoics and Philo of Alexandria. He poses problems and solutions that are unnecessary in themselves, and cloud the message of the gospel. They also set the stage for centuries of controversy, conflict and even murder; definitely not something that can be lain at the door of the non-gentile gospels.

Now if you want to posit that Plato, et al. were prophets of the Father, you're going to have a lot of explaining to do.

The Saulian writings are not prophetic utterence. He doesn't even quote Yeshua. Ever.

I agree. Saul did a great job co-opting the Church and molding it to his views. But Saul isn't God or the Savior.
I pity you. You worship a man and a book instead of God.

Saul was the 1st Century equivalent of a modern day televangelist.

Now that he's used one of your pet programming phrases, you feel all warm and fuzzy?

What a vending machine you are!

Just drop some cons into your slot, push the right buttons and out pops your product.

You've the potential for more than that. Far more.
