what would i say to people who call themselves Christians but think SS is ok?
i would say what Mark said in Mark 4:17
"They have NO root in themselves, and so ONLY endure for a time. Afterward, when tribulation arises for the Word's sake, immediately they stumble."
I would remind them of what 1 Tim 4:1-4 says about believers falling away from the fact and giving heed to seducing spirits and being deceived by the world.
i would remind them that Jesus did not condone SS..... He said He did not come to destroy the law of God, or the old prophets, but to FULFILL the law of God.
and the law of God calls SS wrong.
and if you are not abiding in God's word you are not of God.
Well, I'm a Lutheran and belong to St. Paddy's Second Reformed German Lutheran Church And Microbrewery. You probably don't even follow all the old traditions like we do. We follow ALL the old traditions like celebrating each solstice and each equinox by building a big bonfire in the parking lot behind the church, painting our bodies different pretty colors, and drinking the Sacramental Beer and dancing naked around the fire singing praises to God for His wonderful creations ! Do YOU keep those old Christian traditions too ??? Remember what Martin Luther said !

I'm sorry to tell you this , but it was not because of the GOP these gay marriage bills are defeated. despite most members of the GOPs views against Gay marriage, the vast majority have not even voted on this issue in any state that brought this to vote.

The vast majority of those that voted against gay marriage were African-Americans, and Hispanics from the democrat party, this is a fact and can be researched and found easily.

California is almost 80% Democrat, however they have a large minority population, Gay marriage failed at the ballot box.

North Carolina had a recent election were Gay marriage was on the ballot.

42% of the North Carolina state is of a minority group, with almost 60% of those that voted, only 13% of the white population even bothered to vote and even less were members of the GOP. So the numbers do not add up.

Iowa had a Gay marriage bill just a few years ago and the vast majority of the population is white and 68% of the State are registered with the GOP, yet gay marriage passed and is legal in that state.

Maybe you can explain these numbers because giving the GOP credit for banning gay marriage does not sound right because the numbers just do not add up.

I'm not with Satan, however I do believe Marriage is supposed to be between a man and a woman, however I also believe my opinion nor the Government has any business telling who can and can not get married.

Marriage is a private matter and if i like it or not, but if someone chooses to marry someone of the same sex, it's none of my business.

I may not believe my daughter should marry a fat slob of a man that refuses to hold down a job, but it's not my place to make laws to stop her.

My personal opinion is, marriage is a institution of one man and one woman coming together as one, in the eyes of a God. That is how it originated and how it should stay.

I used to be a Devil, Lol! I have been on here for quite a while, and you wouldn`t believe how many religious discussions i`ve had the pleasure in being involved in, AFTER everyone got past the name on my profile. Lol!

Marriage has nothing to do with gods. Marriage is a legal contract between two individuals.

You disappoint me Satan.

I am sorry young one, I do not mean to disapoint.

Marriages were being performed many centuries before the legal system came about. Unfortunately they were inspired by one or more of the known Gods at that time.

The concept of marriage being a legal contract is due to governmental interference in a private matter between two people, and is one of many ways for local and state governments to partake of funds, to allow them to marry.

Why are these idiots messing with this after the people have already voted against it. The politicians that are pushing this, against the will of the people, aren't fit to be representatives. And it really is a collosal waste of time and taxpayer money.

It may be against your will, spud, but I was taught we all are equal.

Unfortunately, due to closed minded people, the people who believe we are all equal end up having to create laws to protect others.

How damned fair is that? It is NOT.

Ok here is the deal... we are ALL playing a game of semantics here. Everyone is hung up on the word "MARRIAGE". Forgetting the word and the preconcieved concepts that come with it, but looking at the legal meaning, tell me why two consenting U.S. citizens who have been together for 5 years, should have less rights and privledges than two people who signed a marrige license/contract.

Not being gay myself, IMHO what those in favor of ssm want is equality. Not having to jump through legal hoops to get what a hetero couple gets 5 minutes after saying I do. Getting the same federal protection and tax exemptions as a couple gets 5 minutes after saying I do.

The word "marriage" is used because that is the legal word for this contractual state. Has nothing to do with anyones beliefs. Marriage is recogonized by all 50 states, unlike civil union. Marriage is recognized by the government, unlike c.u.'s.

So again I ask, leaving religion out of it, why.....

Ya sorry, but you are not correct. MARRIAGE is a legal state. Yes the government may at one time got into it , but the marital contract is as old if not older than religion. It dates back to the days of the dowry. Where a girl was essentially sold, for two goats, to be wed. The two goats were the contract.

To say that marriage is a religious connotation is to say that anyone not having been "wed" in a church is not married. If you went to a justice of the peace, married by a ships captian, your are still as legally married as someone who spent 40k on a church wedding..... The contract was met and approved by both parties.

1) There is only one God. So all the MANY MANY MANY other people who are of a different religion are doomed..... so say you and your Bible.
2) What YOU interpret the Bible to say is the ONLY correct interpretation. Any person believing in God, and JC, baptized the whole 9 yard, but does not interpret the Bible the same way that you do is not a true Christian.... only you and those who believe like are true Christians and will go to heaven.
Ya not to talabangical at all......
UH YESSSSS.

where is your ability to reason with any common sense?

this is why you don't know the difference between right and wrong or worse than that why you don't even acknowledge a right and wrong.

if there were many gods, and many truths, NO ONE would be right.
there is ONE earth, ONE sun, ONE moon, ONE universe, ONE creation, ONE mankind.......so yes there is only ONE GOD.
and what happens is people in error
look to themselves for the answers
instead of seeking GOD in HIS truth of what is written in HIS ONLY written word known to mankind.

anyone who subscribes to immoral passions is NOT on the right track.

Dear American Taliban....

"where is your ability to reason with any common sense?"

My commone sense is shown clear. It makes common sense that like the Taliban, you want to force what YOU perceive as the "one and true religion" on everyone. This includes making them believe what you do, making them act on the same belief system you do... If they dont, you, through the words you believe in your holy book, damn them to hell....

"worse than that why you don't evg.en acknowledge a right and wron
if there were many gods, and many truths, NO ONE would be right.
there is ONE earth, ONE sun, ONE moon, ONE universe, ONE creation, ONE mankind.......so yes there is only ONE GOD."
'

1) I do acknowledge what is right and wrong
A. It is right for ALL U.S. citizens to enjoy the same legal coverage and rights as any other citizen. It is wrong for them to be denied these rights based on their sexual preference.
B. It is right for everyone to be allowed to believe in their own religious views. It is wrong for people like you to come in and tell them they are wrong because they do not believe as you do. They interpret the Bible differently than you do, so they are not true "Christians".... They choose to worship thier own religion, theirfore their God is false, They choose to let God do the judgeing not them so they embrace the homo community their for their church is false. All because YOUR interpretation of the holy book "says" so.

2)"if there were many gods, and many truths, NO ONE would be right.
there is ONE earth, ONE sun, ONE moon, ONE universe, ONE creation, ONE mankind.......so yes there is only ONE GOD."

And it HAS to be your version of God..... the other religions, that predate organized Christianity, their God/s are false. People who believe in Buddah, Allah, or name your non Christian diety here, their God is false... The people who believe that J.C. was not the son of God, are what... they believe in your God, just not your version of the holy book....
What makes you "GOD" the "GOD". Dont quote the Bible, as the other religions have their version of a holy book that says you are wrong....

3) "anyone who subscribes to immoral passions is NOT on the right track."

So just to be sure , by this you mean, adulters, people who live together, people who do not save them selves for marriage... people who masturbate (every sperm is sacred), people who use contraception (as the bible does say to be fruitful and multiply,..... or is it just those who are homosexuals.

And going by what you say.... subscribe to immoral passions, does that mean strictly physical, i.e. a homo. man/woman, who does not have homo. sex, is in the clear?.....

it is on state constitutions.
which at this time is the determining factor of whether a state allows it or doesn't.
Religion still plays no role in how state constitutions are interpreted and applied to citizens. Most, if not all, state constitutions ave the same freedom of religion clause the federal constitution has so one specific set of religious beliefs can be favored over another. And federal constitutional provisions supersede any conflicting state constitutional provisions.
