Dear Writer to C. George:

You have been given free will by God. You have been the freedom to choose. You have been allowed your choice of what you will listen to and what you will not.

If you choose not to listen to this person who reiterates the truth as given by God.....that is your choice.

God has things set up a certain way. It has been set up that way since the beginning of time. He
has domain over His own plan of creation.

It is for man to pick and choose what and how he will follow God. If man chooses to follow God to the nth degree, then God has called that 'not sinning.'
If man chooses to only follow half way, then God sent his son Jesus the Christ to pay the price
for your half-a$$ed choices, and approves of
your choices that are to follow him without question.

The only reason I can think of as to why in this
beautiful creation---- which God has made and thus was corrupted by Adam and Eve--- for some human kind to have a conflict between the outside image and internal hormones, is for these created individuals to be given an opportunity to prove their love for God above all else. It is God who says that sexual relations is meant and designed for the procreation of children and the furthering of the human race. It wasn't man who said this. It was God that said it was 'sinful' to engage in sexual relations for the mere satisfaction of selfish pleasure!

Man does not write God's plan for Him.
Man should not rewrite marriage that was defined by GOD, and GOD alone. Man has not any right
to shake their fists at their creator and tell Him what is proper and what is not.

You, dear letter writer, are not a god. You will never be a god. You are a lowly human who will revert to the dirt and who is in deep need of the saving power of Jesus.

If I were you I'd start humbling myself.

Of course, C. George doesn't sound off like I have just sounded off. He's a better man than me.
He's a more humble man than me.

I respect his efforts to faithfully speak for God
in all truth and sincerity.

And to you MiddleWay

You want to cheer the person who wishes to be their own god and rewrite God's plan....well the real God has allowed for you to do this. Know that.

You go girl! Very well stated.

In the 8 1/2 years of civil marriages equality in Massachusetts, the Catholic church has been required to perform none of them. Zero, zilch, nada.

PS: In the 8 1/2 years, the sun has come up and the sky has not fallen on each of those days.

And the wicked said the same as you in the days of Noah.

What wrote:

And you are entitled to that belief.

But what George, and apparently you, is attempting to do is take his beliefs and have them applied to all. Applied to those who are not Catholic. Applied to those who are not christians. Applied to those that are atheists, and yes, on those you would consider heathens, pagans. Applied to those that hold that same-sex marriage is valid in their religion, even a christian religion.

You don't like same-sex civil marriage equality? Don't enter into one.

George doesn't like same-sex civil marriage equality? He doesn't have to enter into one. And as the leader of his religious realm, he can stop performing the civil marriage duties and only marry couples according to the Catholic Rite of Marriage as is his right.

The Catholic church is infamous for not marrying divorced individuals. No state compels the church, or any church, to do so. But those couples can, and do, go down the the city/town/county clerk's office and gets civilly married with no religious involvement.

The same will be true for same-sex couples. As I already pointed out, the two catholic dioceses in Massachusetts have performed 0, zero, no, zilch, same-sex marriages. The same holds true for all religions that find same-sex marriages contrary to their religious tenets. I know you will be appalled to learn that there are in fact religions(even christian religions) that will, and do, marry same-sex couples both according to their religious Rite of Marriage as well as civilly according to laws of the state.

Remember, religious marriages are sacred and carry with it no government rights, benefits, and yes, responsibilities. Those rights, benefits and responsibilities only come with a civil marriage license. The state of Illinois is only debating changing the civil marriage laws. Religions will still have the ability to set their own marriage rites. The constitutional amendments passed by the various states over the years have only affected the civil marriage laws. Religions have retained the right to marry same-sex couples religiously even with those civil bans in place.

One of the huge problems with same-sex 'marriage' is that it distorts the truth.
I believe that same sex UNIONs should be allowed by a civil society for those people who choose with their free will to sin ---if they really really want to affront God----BUT, never, ever call it MARRIAGE.
Marriage is a union that is defined by God and God alone. Marriage is a sacrament GIVEN by God.
Marriage is between a male and a female. This is what God insists. therefore THIS is what is the truth.
If a civil society wishes to allow a legal union,
benefits of such, the whole shebang...then so be it. BUT never, ever call it marriage, because it is not marriage ---it will never be marriage.
That term is off-limits to man's re-definition.
The TRUTH given by God is man/woman union.
Anything else...is not marriage.
It can be called--civil union.

This writer is 'thinking' that she is being
Christian. "Be nice to others."

No, people should not be mean to others.
Therefore, people should tell the truth.

American Idol is a great example of this.

People think to themselves that they are great
singers, but in all truth, they are way off!

The same goes here.

It is actually kind to profess the truth because
allowing sinners to advance beyond death's door and then find out that all they while they have
been sinning with be a total SHOCK!

And what of those couples, civilly married, that don't believe in god?

And what of those couples, civilly married, that don't believe in your god?

And what of those couples, civilly married, that don't believe in your understanding of god and what it demands of its followers?

Here's a clue: This is precisely why the U.S. does not have a state religion and the founders were weary of state/religion getting involved with each others spheres of influence.
