Dear Edge ...

This is NOT the British Commonwealth.

The USA has Civil Courts, Superior Courts, Courts of Appeal, Maritime Courts, District Courts, Circuit Courts, Courts Martial, Military Tribunals, Territorial Courts, Protectorate Courts and, of course, SUPREME Courts.

Get off your "HIGH" perch and flutter on down here to accuracy in usages.

This seems to be snowballing with GOP support and prominent business support.

Interesting times.....

Whining about a commonly accepted usage that isn't even discouraged by the AP Style Book. On a high horse over high.

Just pointing it out to the other poster. I don't really care about the usage. But I won't take aim at Snyper, either. I have days where I do the same thing. I think we all do.

I wasn't taking aim at Snyper. He's my hero. I didn't get the British Commonwealth reference....

I put in a request to have the headline corrected to say "Supreme Court" rather than "High Court."

You're welcome.

The AP Style Book is a populist, not scholarly, policy manual that doesn't allow "homophobia".

Anyone have a link to an actual list of the GOPs who have signed on?

A case by case analysis could be VERY revealing.
