The Germans recently made it illegal to circumcise a child, using the logic that the child is not yet able to act on his own behalf, yet they feel it it OK to place the child in a home without the benefits of both a mother and a father.
Evidently foreskins are more important to the Germans.

So in the adoption case, the court is protecting the best-interests of the child by giving him two parents who share responsibility. The court is ignoring the superstitions that unrelated adults use to justify their bigotry.

In the circumcision case, the Bundestag regulated practitioners, not parental choices.

Apparently, the superstitions of closely related adults are still important in Germany. They have only rejected the superstitions of busy-bodies who have no interest in the matter other than to make others' lives more difficult.

Wow, apparently homosexuals feel that parenting is a "superstition".
