oh my God, this needs to stop and stop now there is no reason at all why those officers should be walking around free and Sean not here. they shoud be in prison with the other killers they are no better; and just because they carry a badge does not give them the right to distroy lives exspecially a bright young man with his whole life ahead of him and now his beautiful baby girl dosn't have her daddy and the officers get to go home to their family why not sean? this should have never happened 50 shots? what?:( Peace and Blessings to the family.

If a average citizen shot 50 rounds they would lock them up and throw away the key?I do not care what race. creed if you use excessive force as an officer you should be held responsible. How is it even possible to continue shoot rounds without ever SEEING a gun. Makes no sense at all and people wonder why no one trusts cops or the law. Why does everyone assume the cops are guilty? Isn't that what lead to their aquital ... the various stories made up to assign blame. Maybe if everyone was not so gung ho to hang these cops out to dry, people would be more sympathetic to your cause.

The dudes were hanging out in a shady club. The cops asked them to stop their vehicle but instead the try to flee and crash into a cop car. I mean c'mon.

How do you shoot 31 shots at someone in a city like New York. It is just another reason why we need gun control. Get guns off the streets and out of the hands of the cops. This is not the wild west. This is the 21st century and high time we teach people to use their brains first, especially persons in positions of authority and responcibility.

The only relevant thing to look at is the articulation of the point of imminent threat of death or serious bodily harm to a responding cop or another. If the articulation is reasonable, so was the shooting. The only thing that would change the point of articulation is the responding cops level of training.

These thugs were not shot while having a picnic in the park. They were drunk miscreants leaving a strip club, acting dangerously threatening, and ramming a cop car. It's unfortunate that the man died, but it's lucky that no innocent citizens were harmed by the recklessness of the dead man and his friends.
I would rather live in a society where the occasion drunk and unruly troublemaker gets shot dead than one where our cops have to worry about going to jail for doing their job.

Not sure what charges were brought against them... But walking free is not okay. It says they thought they were being shot at because of breaking glass and tire shreeking?? Uuumm... I have heard a lot of glass and tires shreaking and never thought I was being shot at. Kind of hard to mistake those two.
Cops should not be held to a lower standard than an average joe citizen because they were on the clock. If average joe had been the one who fired into a car full of unarmed men with no proof, nor ever seeing they had a gun, much less having it pointed at them in a threat, he would be headed to jail right now.
No, I do not think this is a race issue. This is police using excessive force and getting away with it. I do not see how there was no guily count at all.. If not murder, at lest man slaughter...

Clearly these officers were inept. I could see emptying one round if one truly thought the man was armed and going to shoot, but after emptying one round and reloading without having any fire returned I would think the officers could figure out they are not being shot at.
