We "used" to live in a Society where standards were placed on behaviors. We stand up to different behaviors as "wrong" as seen thru the basic belief in God and his word. That "standard" has been slowly chipped away until even "In God We Trust" means little to 90% of America. Child Molesters are now misunderstood for being abused themselves in childhood. Rapists get away with horrible behavior. Even murder can be explained away as someone who didn't get breast-fed as an infant. We should be allowed to set standards of behavior as a nation. And for well over 2000 years same-sex behavior between two men or two women was a crime and deemed abnormal behavior.. Where do you draw the line as what's acceptable in society? When a pedophile wants to have sex with a underage boy-if he feels like it's his "right" then why can't he? Because it's something that society has chosen to say is WRONG. Society has had religious values for centuries, and now lets just throw them all out because someone "wants" the right to behave anyway they see fit? The people that are homosexual and lesbian and transgender and other want something that isn't normal behavior. Yes-they see it as normal and not hurting anyone. Yet which percentage of the populace in general is larger? LGBT, or Heterosexual's? That alone shows where the "norm" is. If the standards of the nation tell me that so and so behavior is wrong and bad-then I either 1) accept the standard as norm and behave accordingly, or 2) just do my own thing and suffer the consequences of my actions. If I choose to have sex with animals and see nothing wrong in my behavior, then who am I harming? There are rules and laws and standards put in place by society for reasons. And just because I WANT to do something doesn't make it right..And there is no proof that you can ever show me that people are somehow just "born" that way. God's word said that man's desire is for a woman, and a woman's desire is toward a man. No other choice is Godly, nor is it right in his eyes. Does he love the person regardless of his actions? Yes-but he cannot let Sin go unpunished. That's why he calls Homosexuality an abomination. You can choose anything you wish as "your" norm. God's word has stood for over 2000 years, and now you want to replace his truth with your truth. Only one is the right one. 2 different sets of "Truths" cannot both be right. Choose wisely. As a Christian I should have my "right" to say what I see as truth. I respect your "right" to feel otherwise-but I don't condemn you for your beliefs. If I point out that what you see as normal isn't according to Gods word, and that's the standard I live by-then at least I've told you why I feel the way I do. I don't But 95% of those who disagree with me will rip me apart because I believe in God's word and his truth, rather than what you want the world to see as "normal". I DO NOT condemn LGBT's. I don't believe that your choices line up with what God expects from us.
Unmasking "The Fundamentalist Agenda" http://www.uuworld.org/2004/01/feature2.html
From 1988 to 1993, the American Academy of Arts and Sciences sponsored an interdisciplinary study known as The Fundamentalism Project, the largest such study ever done. More than 100 scholars from all over the world took part, reporting on every imaginable kind of fundamentalism. And what they discovered was that the agenda of all fundamentalist movements in the world is virtually identical, regardless of religion or culture.
They identified five characteristics shared by virtually all fundamentalisms.... One scholar suggested that it's helpful to understand fundamentalism as religious fascism, and fascism as political fundamentalism. The phrase “overcoming the modern” is a fascist slogan dating back to at least 1941."
