So you think DOMA was created to prevent homosexuals from marrying? Nope, it was created in order to define what marriage encompasses. How do you feel about bygamy, how about incest, and pedophilia? The door has been kicked open to allow ALL forms of "marriage", even ones that might upset your apple cart. That's not bigotry, that's hindsight used as foresight.

Well, you can look at it any way you like......but it was Boehner who paid an attorney to defend an UNCONSTITUTIONAL Act with taxpayer money without having the authority of the entire House to do it.......and it has been Boehner and the Republicans who refuse to sign a balance budget UNLESS their demands were met and yes the Democrats have issues as well......they WON'T let this sort of DISCRIMINATORY AMENDMENT even come up for a vote.....and by the way, it is the Republicans who have voted to remove overtime from the Blue-Collar worker....so stuff your "IT'S THE DEMS FAULT" right up your butt!!!

Of course there was...and you fell into hook line and sinker. Who REALLLLY has made out in all this? THE LAWYERS. Homosexuals were never PREVENTED from sharing their lives with the partner they chose. They just wanted what they believed to be equal recognition under the law, for what.....MONEY. Some things never change.

What is considered "illegal" now can easily become legal in a few short years...look at pot. Look at AK47 and SKS's. Look at gay marriage. Look at the helmet law. mmmm And what is legal now can just as easily become illegal. All you need is the right recipe of politicians and voila! Whoever thought that we would be forced to wear seatbelts???
Well, if you are for any of what you mentioned.....go for it. But sitting behind a computer and telling us about it won't get the job done. DO get back to us...we will be waiting for a full report.

I own a manufacturing company, robotics. All of it's components are made right here in the good ole USA. Odumbo is off on another excursion in an attempt to do what???Increase trade with Africa.... So long as this administration continues it's taxation of small business, like mine, and it's unending subsidies to one's like Wal-mart, where do you suppose our products we consume will come from...DUH! All of my vehicle are American made since most are classics, made long before the fair trade agreement by your boy Clinton. But, hey, I have also sent many of my products overseas as well. It's a double edged sword funny boy.

First off, it's bigotry dressed up as tacky rhetoric. Secondly if you want a rational dialogue about marriage leave out the obsession with pedophilia you have.

Thirdly, if you took the time to know me before criticizing, you'd know I have been reminding people ever since DOMA PASSED that it DOES NOT make SSM illegal and in fact grants Federal permission for such marriages, in States that decide to grant them.

Lastly may I remind you of what a previous SCOTUS decision said:

The freedom to marry has long been recognized as one of the vital personal rights essential to the orderly pursuit of happiness by free men. Marriage is one of the "basic civil rights of man," fundamental to our very existence and survival.
-Supreme Court Chief Justice Earl Warren's opinion from "Loving vs. Virginia,".

As for bigamy and incest, they are crimes. Marriage between two adults, for the most part, isn't.

Get over it.

Get over it.
While I'm not in favor of, nor promoting bigamy or incest, I would like to point some things out.

While bigamy is certainly illegal in all U.S. jurisdictions, it is legal in some other countries and is practiced by some Jews and Muslims. Now if a man with 2 legal wives, married in a country that permits it, comes to visit the U.S., is he guilty of bigamy ?

And while incest is against the law in many jurisdictions in the U.S., it depends how you define it, both morally and legally.

Some states permit the marriage of first cousins (same gender and opposite gender), some states do not permit the marriage of first cousins as that jurisdiction defines it as incestuous. But ALL jurisdictions in the U.S. LEGALLY RECOGNIZE the marriages of first cousins, performed in jurisdictions where they permit it, their own laws to the contrary notwithstanding. Why ? BECAUSE OF THE "FULL FAITH and CREDIT" CLAUSE IN THE U.S. CONSTITUTION. Which is EXACTLY WHY the Founding fathers put that clause in there. For one reason, so some couples wouldn't suddenly become "unmarried" simply because they travel thru, or move their residence to, a different states.

Crimes, based on a court decision, correct? Well, they keep overturning court "decisions" now don't they?

So instead of all those issues you whined about over your government cheese, this biggest issue facing our Nation's security, isn't any of those?

It's passing an amendment to the Constitution to overturn SCOTUS decisions like this one?

The freedom to marry has long been recognized as one of the vital personal rights essential to the orderly pursuit of happiness by free men. Marriage is one of the "basic civil rights of man," fundamental to our very existence and survival.
-Supreme Court Chief Justice Earl Warren's opinion from "Loving vs. Virginia,".

That one had to do with race and marriage so I can relate to the uneasiness blacks might feel about another amendment.
