All of this begs the following question....which one of our illustrious BOE members will be the first to have the 'nads to demand accountability from not only Booster officials, but also Springboro's coaches.
Who is the school district employee who hires the athletic director and all the coaches that our business manager presents supplemental contracts to the board? Does George Long interview and hire the athletic director and the coaches?
The board voted to approve the one year contract for Rick Creager; but who is Rick Creager's boss? Is it the superintendent or the high school principal?

The way I understand it is that the Athletic Director reports to the Superintendent and the coaches are interviewed by the AD and then recommended to the HR Director for hire.

interesting my posts get negative remarks but the "trashing" post get postives - removal of an elected official can't be without cause unless there is majority of electorate in favor. I seriously doubt that you(anyone) can get a majority of voters to sign or even vote. Now for the future one term is enough to get a pattern. Vote your mind on next election(local/national) As for local events i am not suprised that no talk is happening about the next contract with the SEA it is much easier to pull than push a dead weight as seen by past events with the SEA - there should be talking about future or a BIG negative event will be happen as aeen by several School Dist. in the area. No Money means No Money unless you are the fed gov't. pretty soon we will be in the Greek Salad as we - Local events are like the bad apple its spoils from the bottom up.

Why is Tiffany Carlisle not reporting her "concern for our school district" to her little budd at DDN?
Wasn't Tiffany Carlisle one of the first of the levy ladies to send her "concerns" to the DDN after the Scott Anderson/Don Miller/SEA school board candidates of choice lost the November election to Petroni/Rigano who are doing what's right for our school children and community?
What Tiffany Carlisle is a Athletic Booster Board member??? Really???

So, all of this bashing of Dr. Kohl, Petroni and Rigano is a possible coverup? The next headline could backfire on her. Booster parent, Mrs Carlisle .... Booster board member, espoused to needs for the emergency 6 million in property taxes couldn't see corruption under her own nose. Publically, at a board meeting, told Dr. Kohl to do what was right for the students and join the rest of the board to manipulate the voters of Springboro and get this levy passed.
Mrs. Carlisle who gave several speeches at board meetings to tell Dr. Kohls essentially to shut up, sit down and do what she was told is now linked to possible illegal accounting in her own group? I find that behavior consistent of the other self righteous, better than thou, board race loosers she hangs with.

Maybe all of us should attend athletic booster board meetings and film their every move to catch them doing something wrong. As suggested by Craig Colston, "keep an eye on them, there is something more sinister going on here".

Do the math. The Boosters collected $260,000 in 2004. If we assume that they didn't turn any funds over to the school from 2005 to current, that is seven years. Seven times $260,000 equals $1,820,000 in fundraisers that should have been used to pay for sports related expenses.
Then look at the camps and other fund raisers that all the coaches collected and didn't turn over to the district. There are 22 sports according to the school website. If we estimate very low, say $10,000 per sport, per year, for seven years that is $10,000 x 22 x 7 equals $1,540,000.
If all that money had been properly deposited with the school treasurer, there would have been $3,360,000 for sports and there would not have been any need for pay to play fees.
That is how they have hurt our kids.
This needs to be repeated.

Doug Skinner, Springboro Sun editor, reports that "Boosters say they are victims of deception."

In this July 3, 2012 Springboro Sun website news article, it is stated:

"In response to the revelation that the boosters club has had its non-profit status taken at the moment, I can say that when that fact was discovered, immediate action was taken to restore non-profit status," said Jeffrey Kirby, the organization's attorney. "It's not clear when exactly that problem will be corrected, but the boosters (are) focused on doing all it can to restore its credible standing within the community."

Excuse me, but isn't Jeffrey Kirby the same Boosters parent that
"presented his case for a school tax increase" to (then) school board members Anderson, Ellis, Kohls, Kruse and Miller at a public school board meeting during our last "unnecessary-levy" promotion season? Is this Boosters attorney the same Mr. Kirby who publicly embraced the "fake budget crisis" and (unaffordable pay to play fees for cheerleaders) as an "emergency" reason to get the levy on the ballot? If so, isn't this a huge conflict of interest, both personally and professionally?

Don't know much about "presenting the case, legally... still,
...can't help but Wonder Why? the tax free status was taken away from Boro Boosters?
Is it a public record of the IRS, and why doesn't Mr. Kirby tell us "in what way were the Boosters deceived by one of its own?"

Wonder if the tax free status was taken away because the Boosters (Springboro Basketball Association) contributed thousands of dollars to the Neighbors for Springboro Schools political action committee to promote the school levy (as was reported by DDN, along with reported thousands of dollars donated by the SEA). Only thing is, if Mr. Kirby was the attorney for the boosters during levy season contribution of the kids money; then why did Mr. Kirby not hold the boosters legally accountable for giving the "fundraising money for the kids" to fund the kids programs, instead of giving the kids' money to the NFSS political action committee to fund levy promotion?

Do the people that work for the Boosters org know that they were not reporting income and expenses to the IRS for the last 7 years. Did these same hard working parents know that their efforts were funding a unnecessary pro levy campaign? Did these parents know that their money and work was not going to defray expenses of athletics but to do many other causes not all of which have been reported to the IRS?

Do these parents know that some board members of the Boosters, BOE and admin may have known where the money was going and did nothing or .......? Could this be why two certain board members now show up at BOE meetings, graduation, around town and are working behind the sceens to discredit the current BOE. What causes a person to work so hard to get rid of those asking the questions? If you were not guilty of anything would you risk looking like a radical, ranting and raving in public to tell others you are going to kick their ______ if they don't stop asking questions?

Why are union reps doing the same thing with the people asking the questions. Teachers in this district were telling students that if Petroni and Rigano got elected they were going to cancel all sports. This was a blatant lie, but why would so many of them take the chance of getting into trouble for spreading lies? What did they have to lose? Could it be funding for the Pro Levy campaign and in turn, their raises?

Would you quit a job after 10 years just because someone was asking questions if you were certain you were doing what was right for the students?

Many many lies are being told about Kohl, Rigano and Petroni, why, they are only asking questions, who loses if questions are answered?

Now why is Tiffany Carlisle and Lisa Babb and Tina Schrof, et.al also in this strand of lies, trying so hard to discredit and trying to create a community divide?

First, let's get this straight. SAB means Springboro Athletic Boosters, a 501 (C) 3 nonprofit group which was initially formed to provide fundraising for Springboro High School sports. Not SBA, which apparently is the basketball group.

The non profit status was automatically revoked by the IRS for not filing form 990 for more than three years. The IRS was trying to give small nonprofits a break by allowing them to file a "postcard" return, kind of like a 1040 EZ for nonprofits. The nonprofits that did not respond to the IRS and did not file a complete 990 form were automatically removed from nonprofit status. Springboro Athletic Boosters have not filed a 990 with the IRS since 2005 for the 2004 tax year.

The questions for Mr.Kirby are:
How long has he been the attorney for the Boosters?
Does he attend meetings of the Boosters? When are the meetings held and who has the Meeting Minutes?
Most organizations have a Treasurer's Report presented to the Board either monthly or quarterly, with a final yearly report provided showing all financial activity. Where are those reports? If the Board and Attorney never got financial reports, why didn't they ask the Treasurer for them?
Since the main purpose of the Boosters was fundraising, wouldn't it be likely that amounts raised and items or money donated would be the focus of their meetings?
As the Boosters attorney, would Mr. Kirby have been responsible for making sure that they filed the proper forms with the state and federal tax authorities? Doesn't an attorney have an obligation as an "Officer of the Court" to see to it that laws are followed if he is their attorney of record?
Can he really just say that they were misled for the last seven years, without having been provided a tax return(990) or a financial statement? Or were there actually falsified financial documents provided to the SAB Board?
Doesn't Mr. Kirby place himself at risk of, at a minimum, being accused of negligence, if not criminal activity, for not reporting malfeasance. Or is he willing to stand up and declare his ignorance? Either way, it is probably going to damage his career....do people want an attorney that will not ask questions and ascertain the facts to represent then?

Was there any accounting of the money / donations collected by the Boosters over the years - and was any of it ever given to an athletic program at Springboro? Who is ultimately responsible for this? So many questions and too few answers! But it does appear that since the school superintendent is the "boss" of the athletic director, that the superintendent is "ultimately responsible for this" financial/ ethical abuse that our coaches/boosters officers have heaped upon us and brought shame to our school children and community. Our elected officials, Anderson and Miller, looked the other way and just "rubber stamped" yes to "status quo, business as usual" so many times that they lost sight of our BOE majority's values of doing what's right for our school children and community.

So What? Even the athletic director only gets one chance to make a good FIRST year impression.

This Boro Boosters mess has been going on for several years. How long has Creager been working in our school district? And, isn't the former athletic director Troy Holtrey still a teacher here and one of the Boosters officers? Surely, there's enough wrongdoing going on long enough to "spread around." Fact is, Mr. Lolli will probably have to take one for the team; since he's not around anymore; but we'll just keep digging until we uproot all school employees who have a role in this corruption. btw- why did Troy Holtrey resign as athletic director? And did Holtrey resign as athletic director the same year that superintendent David Baker resigned. And didn't David Baker resign because he refused to answer the tough questions being asked by school board member Dr. Kohls who was the lone voice on our school board representing our children's best interest?

So, it would be okay if you hired me to do a job and I screwed it up, even though I was supposed to be qualified, it would all be ok because it was my first year on the job? It doesn't work that way in the real world.
