you are talking about something far different from the two person legal marriage. if you want to explore the possibilites of plural marriages, you would need to invent a whole new law code for such. if it is found equal and non-discriminatory and acceptable to the US public, it would be adopted.

Where do you get this stuff from? Gay people marrying is not "anti-religious. Why, a large number of us marry right in our own religious denominations, but the very same church leaders that marry the rest of the congregation.

What people dislike is whe n some religious view they don't share is pushed on them, or their kids. Then they push pback.

As would you, if a school started daily readings from the Koran and issued each child a prayer rug, required children take classes taught by Rabbis, demanded that all students study the writings of a catholic Pope, or held pagan ceremonies to welcome spring.
