Well then how did that movie shooter in Denver buy 3,000 rounds of ammo over the internet??
You can buy anything on the internet. That's under the table. It's not that hard to figure out. Perverts can still get kiddie porn on the internet and that's against the law. We need more laws now, right?

I would agree with voter ID if the ID's were free and government provided transport for every single person who couldn't get to an issuer on their own.
Transportation is not provided to vote, so why should it be provided to get an ID?

Do you feel that walking up and saying a name (hopefully your own), signing under the name, and then being handed a ballot would stop any voter fraud? Like I said before when I walked up to the voting judge I could see the top page of registered voters, read their names and addresses, and see which ones were already used. If I had said I was any of those people, how would they have known? How would I have been caught?

Actually Snake was right about shotguns (and rifles) not "needing" an ID or permit to purchase. You need a permit and ID to purchase a handgun or semi-automatic rife in MN.
I think you need to show ID for this to prove who you are.

"Sale of a firearm by a federally licensed dealer must be documented by a federal form 4473, which identifies and includes other information about the purchaser, and records the make, model, and serial number of the firearm. Sales to an individual of multiple handguns within a five-day period require dealer notification to the ATF. Violations of dealer record keeping requirements are punishable by a penalty of up to $1000 and one year's imprisonment."

Yes, but you do not need to buy those from a federally licensed dealer. Still hand gun ownership is protected by the US constitution and you need an ID to buy one.

You don't need to buy a handgun or a automatic weapon from a dealer either. How do criminal thugs in Chicago get guns?

I do not know IL gun laws, but I assumed we were talking legal channels.

I`m not a big gun owner but I think you can buy a shotgun without an ID.
Maybe you should try and figure out how we can get more people to vote instead of trying to stop people from voting. Thats what democracy is really about.
Snake, you need a photo ID to purchase a gun. You, in Minnesota, already have the easiest way to encourage voters, same day registration and you allow someone to vouch for a person's residency. It don't get no easier than that. The 10,000 lb gorilla in the middle of the room is at the Pre/already Registered table. If you know your buddies address and phone number and know he is out of town and did not vote absentee, and was not in your precinct, you go to his precinct house, tell them you are him and vote. NO ONE and I mean NO ONE will challenge you nor, in all likelihood will you probably will never get caught. Why? Because the polls are very busy on election day, they cannot, by law, ask for an ID therefore who to say your aren't who you say you are. Now, this may be labeled a conspiracy but if anyone in your Nanny state thinks this doesn't happen, OH, and I have no proof, because unless you get a confession, you can't ask for proof, they are really living in a rabbit hole

Yup, vouch for the alien, so that they could vote against the I.D. amendment.

Nope, have several guns and didn't show ID... WRONG, always/again.
