Why would Ohio be ready for something that cannot exist? Marriage is the result of procreation and two people of the same gender can never have a child together so therefore they can never be married.

Has anyone ever told you that you are living in an ugly fantasy? No one really cares whether you consider anyone married or not dear, your approval, simply isn't necessary.

I just got off a thread that claimed gays and muslims are obsessed with sex. Your side has been re-defining marriage to be nothing more than popping out children better than a bitch at a puppy farm.

I feel sorry for the house you grew up in and the parents that raised you to think marriage means, Bless us father so we can pop out the youngens!

I have 4 sisters and a brother. None of their marriages was based on how many children the wife could squeeze out over 5 years.

And my Dad. He re-married another woman. You just told him and her their marriage is invalid because Violet is past menopause and won'=t make any more babies. What is even funnier and more tragic is that Violet agrees with you about marriage being one man one woman. She just doesn't want to have more children.

Let's look at all the man/woman couples who can't have children and the ones who delay having them. They don't have REAL marriages according to you.

Your moral compass is disgusting and missing the needle! I'll refrain from commenting about your intellectual capacity. I'd end up insulting douchebags.

Marriage is the RESULT OF PROCREATION? Really, is that a fact? So you're saying that you can only get married if you've already spawned a child?

Welcome to Planet Earth, darling. Obviously, we have much to teach you before you go back to Hell, from whence you came.

"Going to church doesn't make you any more a christian than going to a garage makes you a car. Your beliefs don't make you a better person, your behavior does.

Your words mean nothing if your actions are the complete opposite. Having true faith in whatever you believe must be shown through actions; belief is only half the battle.

Let your dreams be bigger than your fears, your actions louder than your words, and your faith stronger than your feelings."

And next year we'll be able to marry in your own state of Oregon when we overturn your ban there as well.

Aaaah, gotta love that!

Ohio has a severe division between its conservative part and it's liberal part. Mostly, the Cleveland area is the home of liberal rhetoric, but that is blended with a statewide reactionary attitude about labor laws.

Generally, I tag my state as hillbilly haven. They will cut off their nose to spite the face but they also have a lot of practice with keeping their mouths shut as they practice their flavors of bigotry. Normally, that bigotry is reserved for what is perceived as freeloaders described with the letter "n" but even among liberals, this struggle among dogs fighting over table scraps could go either way.

On this one, as with the whole country, I tend to think that keeping free handouts for all married people will win out even over a personal visit from God instructing them of His will. Ohio has one of the worst economies in the country and that hillbilly attitude can be twisted because it's not inspired by anything smart.

To that extent, I'll stay out of the debate, but promoting homosexuality is about the easiest way possible to get the yahoos to be against it, so drive on!

Ohio here; with the latest ruling from Timothy Black in regards to the case of James Obergefell and John Arthur, this will likely be a crtical step in finding the ohio's contistutional amendment unconstitutional.

"This is not a complicated case," wrote Black in his decision. "…Ohio law has historically and unambiguously provided that the validity of the marriage is determined by whether it complies with the law of the jurisdiction where it was celebrated."

So Ohio has to recognize same sex marriages from other states where legalized.

Ohio has to recognize same sex marriages from other states where legalized because of the U.S. Constitution's "Full Faith and Credit" clause which MUST be applied to ALL marriages in the U.S.

There are NO "gay exceptions" in the U.S. Constitution.
