Sacrificing all that profit is not wise for any business. If they can't honor the law and support equality then they should move their operations to Africa or the Middle East.

Some business owners are making it harder than it really needs to be......and some couples may need to do some research in order to find what they are looking for.

We had no problem finding places on line that were happy to take our business.....and we opted not for a traditional cake topper with two Brides on it.....most of what we saw was pathetic......so, we had a cake topper with Swans and Bells.......it fit our cake and looked really nice when we added some personal touches to it.

Both sides need to be patient going forward.........now, if BLATANT bigotry is shown or their religious beliefs come up......those need to be addressed.......but for the most part.....ask around and ye shall find!!!

I've never had ANY vendor express the slightest reservation about helping to celebrate our union. Our first celebration was 20 years ago in a very rural community--back when commitment ceremonies were novel even in the gay community. I've concluded that NORMAL people don't need to express judgment and condemnation during every waking moment of their lives.

I think these stories of business people who do let judgment and condemnation affect commerce are rare exceptions. I also suspect that after a few customers walk out the door, their recalcitrance will be dominated by their desire to pay the rent.

We didn't either.....in fact most of the physical businesses we dealt with were very polite and professional.........so, I wonder why some make it seem like this is such a bigger issue than it might actually be!!!

It serves the purposes of the anti-gay to prove that "good Christians" are being forced to perform acts contrary to their "free exercise of religion." Unfortunately, even the small number of rejections by business people affect their victims strongly. And some play into the narrative of the anti-gay by pursuing publicity and legal remedies to the slight.

It turns out that the pain of rejection is one of the stronger emotions, even when the rejection is by a complete stranger over a trivial issue.(No soup for you!) The outsider can easily advise the rejected to brush it off and walk away. But they typically underestimate the pain, even though they themselves have experienced the same pain.

Like all emotions, different people handle rejection differently: Some walk away and never think about it again, others sulk, and others seek vengeance through methods both legal and illegal.

Gays are an insignificant percentage of the population. If the wedding industry wants to accommodate them that's fine. Those that choose not to, it's no big deal.

Which law is it that forces people to support gay marriage?

We're about the same percentage of the population as Jews. Do you think that discrimination against Jews is also okay? Massachusetts probably has about the same number of blacks as gays.(New Hampshire has more gays.) So is it okay to discriminate against blacks?

It's called "The federal law that forces Americans to support gay marriage", signed into law by The Obamaniac last year. Don't you know ANYTHING ?!

The Obamaniac IS a Communist, and too many people voted for him. So we're stuck with him.:(
