The Bible and Perversion<quoted text>
What the hell would you know about the ten commandments?
You people never think a thing about G-d until you want to use His word to defend your perversion.
Doesn't work that way------ FLUSH!
Leviticus 18:23 "'You shall not lie with any animal to defile yourself with it; neither shall any woman give herself to an animal, to lie down with it: it is a perversion.(WEB JPS NAS RSV NIV)
Leviticus 18: 23; Neither shalt thou lie
with any beast to defile
thyself therewith: neither
shall any woman stand
before a beast to lie down
thereto: it [is] confusion [decadence (thbl)]. http://www.scripture4all.org/OnlineInterlinea...
Notice that the word confusion in modern translation is often translated, perversion. What is the confusion. Better adressesed with the word, abomination defined in Leviticus 20: 25,26;
You shall therefore make a distinction between the clean animal and the unclean, and between the unclean bird and the clean; you shall not bring abomination on yourselves by animal or by bird or by anything with which the ground teems, which I have set apart for you to hold unclean. You shall be holy to me; for I the Lord am holy, and have separated you from the peoples to be mine.
A few words stand out in 25, 26: distinction; abomination; set apart; holy; separated. Here we find that abomination is associated with what is clean and unclean. This distinction is set against the people, Caananites/Egyptians. The holiness, what stands out, what is connected. Sacred is about what is whole. Sacredness is associated with the Holy.
for I the Lord am holy, and have separated you from the peoples to be mine.
For I the Lord, make you stand out so that you are associated with me.
These two verses are about Idolatry and Sacredness. God's people separated from idolatry and the people establish Israel as sacred, a religion of the people of God. Sacred and Holy.
Leviticus 20:12 "'If a man lies with his daughter-in-law, both of them shall surely be put to death: they have committed a perversion; their blood shall be upon them.(WEB NIV)
And if a man lie with his
daughter in law, both of
them shall surely be put to
death: they have wrought
confusion [decadence (thbl)]; their blood [shall
be] upon them. http://www.scripture4all.org/OnlineInterlinea...
Psalms 5:9 For there is no certainty in their mouth; their inward part is perversion, their throat is an open sepulchre; they flatter with their tongue.(DBY)
For [there is] no
faithfulness in their mouth;
their inward part [is] very
wickedness [dealing-slickly (ichliqu·n)]; their throat [is]
an open sepulchre; they
flatter with their tongue. http://www.scripture4all.org/OnlineInterlinea...
5,10: An open grave: while they feign words of friendship, their hidden thoughts, the words in their throat, i.e., in their heart, are murderous, ready to swallow up men to death. Cf Jer 5, 16. NAB1971, p. 595.
