The argument isn't even relevant, anyway. When one claims the kids are worse off, you have to ask worse off than what? What alternative did the kids have?
We don't say that poor families can't raise kids, simply because they'd be better off in a rich family. We don't say that poor couples can't foster or adopt children because they'd be better off in some non-existent wealthier household.
The whole argument is a red herring from the beginning. Why are we arguing over how red it is?
It's the only argument they have left.

Common sense aside (that doesn't work on them), since there are no actual studies yet of MARRIED same-sex couples raising kids, they can make their nonsense claims that allowing us to marry will somehow have a NEGATIVE effect on our kids that isn't present if we're not married.

It's ridiculous, but as we heard at the oral arguments, it's something the anti-gays on the court seem to be willing to buy into to delay any sweeping ruling.

That whole "it's too new" thing.

The justices know it's b.s. too, but they have their own agenda right now to delay the inevitable as long as possible.

If we were to follow that logic then we should be insisting that every home where children are raised should have a heterosexual male parent, a heterosexual female parent.
Actually, that the children have their mother and father in the home with them, regardless of their sexuality....

It's funny how you pick and choose "experts" that draw only the conclusion you want. And even then, you ignore what they actually said and twist it into what you want.
'I' didn't pick and choose anyone....they made their own determinations and went public with them....
What about the hundreds of experts who came to different conclusions than Regnerus? Why haven't the experts whom you so admire on recognized psychology and child welfare boards accepted the conclusions that you have made up from Regnerus' study?
You 'do' realize hundreds of experts disagree with 'your' studies as well right????

Of course there is disagreement...that's why 'research' is on-going...
Personally, I think you're pretty clever at twisting facts. But that is not the same as being intelligent.
What facts did I twist??? That the study was peer reviewed? That it was published in a scientific journal?? That there are at least 18 individual sociologists that back up Regnerus' methods and results???? What facts did I twist???

Thank you. I think we all agree that children are better off in stable households, and marriage tends to stabilize households. So we are in 100% agreement that same-sex couples will continue to raise children and that those children will be better off when their parents marry.
Best the 'optimum' situation is in the home with their biological parents, married and in a low conflict relationship.....FACT! Shouldn't we move towards the 'best' situation for our children???

Nope, no evidence whatsoever that a girl "needs a mother in the home with her" to become a well adjusted woman; nor a boy needing a father in the home either.
Wow! Denial of your daughters needs doesn't mean she doesn't need them.....
In fact millions of boys & girls grow up to be well adjusted successful adults without a same gender parent in the home, including our current President!
...and millions more don't, because of selfish, non-caring people like you...

Well, considering a man can't be a mother, and a woman can't be a father...I'd say you were wrong on that...

You and your fellow anti-gays keep claiming gays raising kids is harmful, so the onus is on you to prove that.
Otherwise we get the benefit of the doubt just like every other parent.
no, its not, until you can PROVE beyond reason it is not, it is RATIONAL to believe so...

Nope, the Renergus study didn't look at kids raised by same-sex couples. They looked at kids raised by OPPOSITE-SEX couples where one of the parents had an affair at some point during the marriage with someone of the same sex.
Even you aren't dishonest enought to claim that is anywhere near the same as being raised by a committed same-sex couple.
So the only relevance the study has is to the effects of infidelity on kids.
AGAIN and AGAIN, yes, i acknowledge flaws in ALL the studies, renergus, and the same exact flaws and WAY more in all the studies you want to say prove conclusive on the issue!

In short, if renergus is flawed, so are the smaller hand picked self reporting non married samples....

see how CONSISTENCY works?

you mean like using HAND PICKED highly educated gays self reporting samples and excluding bad gay parents and supporting itself with no objective evidence like the studies that support your agenda?

you merely agree or disagree with the study, and that aint science...

How does banning same-sex couples from marrying further your goal?

Does banning same-sex couples from marrying prevent them from having kids?

Does banning same-sex couples from marrying force opposite-sex couples to marry & raise their biological kids together in a low conflict relationship?

Nope, the only thing banning same-sex couples from marrying accomplishes is denying their kids the same legal protections kids of married hetero couples have.

You only hurt the kids.
