Makes sense since the majority of voters support same-sex marriage.
The rest lack the humanity to be embarrassed by their position.

Huck here we agree. This seems like a civil rights issue to me but let us be prepared for the onslaught by the Christians even though i seem to recall a bit of slavery in the Bible and these same people will claim to abhor slavery.

If a "majority of voters" support same sex marriage, explain why Prop 8 passed in Cali...
Warner changed because his Heroes (The Clintons) changed their mind. Even though Bill signed DOMA...
it is all about the votes....nothing else!

I'm sure if conservatives can dream up a reason it be to their advantage they will pass a bill, majority willing. Don't get me started on christians who think their moral authority allows them to commandeer marriage, the union of a man and A women, while their playbook supports polygamy. And conservatives, with their current director, who admires the institution so much, rush has married how many times?

I've said it b4, politicians are vote h o r e s, clinton, warner, obama all flip-flop, and so are hypocrites, but it doesn't make their support of same-sex marriage wrong. A more valid question is why has there been only one congressional republican out in favor of it? Wait for your deluge of hypocrisy (bill oreilly just came out). Voters will make fools of them too, just as the immigration issue has done.

Warner trolling for votes , he will pimp your cause to get them .

I hope the DOMA decision gets tossed.

All but one Gay person I know supports confiscating guns and has their head jammed up Obamas back end, LOCK N STEP attacking my CIVIL RIGHTS as a responsible gun owner.

When "they" came for ME, the gays grabbed their purses and turned their heads and just walked away . Gays are asking for SPECIAL RIGHTS anyway = they don't even know what they are fighting for .

It's an appeal to urban voters, that is, Northern VA, where this measure is popular. I don't think you'll see much traction on the issue in the 5th district, although, people in Charlottesville will surely complain.

I used to be a Democrat, but they've pretty much ejected rural voters and conservative Democrats from the party. This change and gun control were the pretty much the last straw.

They're current strategy is to appeal to urban voters with a core group of single women and minorities. Of course, alone that can't win an election, but if you sway enough suburban voters, then you can get the 2% or 3% swing to carry the election.

It's not a terrible strategy. I imagine they'll carry the Senate and the Presidency for some time. Gridlock will continue, though, since they won't control the House...they might even lose some House seats in 2014.

The majority do not support, hence proposition 8 in California. Possibly the most liberal state in the union voted against it until the 9th circus court of appeals overturned the voters.

Warner changed his vote because he has friends, neighbors, maybe even family who may belong to the gay community. Intelligent people have the willingness to observe, reflect, achange their thinking on such things as abortion, gay marriage, gun ownership, etc. I have great admiration for those who have the guts to admit that they have changed their minds regarding these very personal issues. The Hannitys, and Limbaughs cling to the old closed minded thinking of the far right and dont have the intelligence to think and make decisions for themselves. Way to go Warner!! You may have lost more votes than you gained but congratulations for having the guts to announce your new vision!!!

Proposition 8 was heavy funded by the Mormons in Utah. Poll after poll shows the majority of Americans do support same sex marriage or could care less. Of course conservatives claimed the polls were skewed last year and were predicting a Romney landslide. Which should we believe?

Check your geography - Warner was speaking in Augusta County which is in Central Virginia - a rather rural area to be exact which is predominantly conservative.
