Why do illegals think they can do things in OUR country they can't in theirs? Boot 'em all out!

There is something here that renders the whole thing even more unfair than the lack of recognition of same-sex marriage: the foreign partner is a registered nurse with US degrees (the article doesn't state whether her US degrees were in nursing, but I would assume so). There are always shortages of nurses. Yet the United States' immigration policy does not take skill into account. Yet it maintains something so stupid and absurd as an immigration lottery by country (easily abused, too, especially in countries whose citizens can readily create hundreds of alternate identities by bribery). But then, what would one expect from a group of mentally retarded lawmakers who cater to the whims of a mentally retarded populace?

If these two are so "in love" why doesn't the American pack up her bags and move to Peru? Why does every gay couple automatically want US citizenship? Every adult that falls in love with a foreign national should assume that the "forever after" will take place in a foreign country.

If the foreign country is anti-gay, they would not be able to live there either, even if its immigration policy is more open than the US. Also, the country might be equally or more restrictive of immigration in general (Australia, for example). I suspect that does not really matter to you because you are probably xenophobic, homopboic or both. And if only the former, would you treat straight couples any differently?

If a straight man fell in love with a straight foreign woman (and the woman could not stay) then pack your bags and embrace her culture and move to her country. Why does everyone insist that HERE is where they need to live. It's a big world. Get out there... For loves sake!
