I find it increasingly hard to understand just how gullible and sometimes downright stupid the American voter is. And, yes, I am an American, too.

Narrow minded, hear what they want to hear, and not consider the big picture and the facts really do matter.

I agree, she should not be taken lightly. If so we may wake to find her giggling as she ascends the political ladder. While we apathetically look away. Remember Santorum, Bush, DeLay,,,, it happens.

Yup, a TRUE American you are ! Apparently anyone who disagrees with you is just too STUPID to be allowed to vote.

Liberals don't favor democracy. They just want to sit in their ivory towers and rule "the little people", because they're too stupid to make decisions for themselves and run their own lives. They need the "all-wise intellectuals" to rule them under a dictatorship for their own good.

If that's what you want, then move to the "Worker's Paradise" of Cuba, where the people just lie on the beach sunning themselves all day in the "Worker's Paradise" of milk and honey.

You TWITS are POSITIVELY DANGEROUS to America.

At best (worst?) she's a lightweight. Like Sarah Palin, she has that "the light's on but there's nobody home" permanently on her face.

I do remember her appearances on Bill Maher's show, including the one with the witchcraft admissions. Did anyone notice it was Clive Barker sitting next to her?

If you have little Frankie Stanton/Daniel P. from Long Island, or whoever his voices in his head are telling him he is this week, on your side, you know you're in deep do-do.

This country is jam-packed with scumbags and losers who deserve every misfortune the recession has brought them, and more. I don't feel anything when I hear about their problems. I keep being glad in this weird, dull way that they have to suffer; it's SUCH karma. SUCH karma. This country is too full of diseased filth for me to care what's happening to them.

They're not taking her lightly at all. They're currently attempting to bring her up on charges of misusing campaign funds. She's already contacted a lawyer. Not making it up; check your google headlines.

Sounds like they're taking her pretty seriously to me.

It's not about O'Donnell being taken lightly. It's about the total ignorance of the Murican public, as others have said.

-
O’Donnell led a campaign against masturbation, claiming it is a form of adultery. In a 90s era discussion on MTV, O’Donnell said,“The Bible says that lust in your heart is committing adultery. So you can’t masturbate without lust.”[Huffington Post, 9/2/10]

O’Donnell believes contraception is ‘anti-human.’“And to me, it’s a very anti-human way to go about this. And what I mean about anti-human is even if the population is increasing, so what? So what? People aren’t bad. When did humans become a bad thing? Why is it that we have to, you know, stop people from getting pregnant?”[The O'Reilly Factor, 1/6/06]

O’Donnell believes the proper role of a woman is to ’submit’ to her husband.”This is not about merely a Baptist doctrine. This is a biblical doctrine. And the passage from the Bible the Baptist article is taken from talks about a submissive family. And yet, what the media seems to be reacting to is the word “submit” in the wives. But yet, even in, Mary, your introduction, you ignored or you left out where it says they graciously submit to a servant leader. And that is God’s design for the family. It is not about dominating and it is not about being a slave to your husband.”[CNN, 6/11/98]

O’Donnell warned about mice with ‘fully functioning human brains.’“Now we’re using this to start cloning humans.… They are — they are doing that here in the United States. American scientific companies are cross-breeding humans and animals and coming up with mice with fully functioning human brains.’[O'Reilly Factor, 10/16/07]

O’Donnell is so fervently pro-truth that she wouldn’t lie to Nazis looking for Jews in her home. Appearing on Political Incorrect with Bill Maher, O’Donnell explained the
importance of truth-telling, refusing to even entertain the notion of lying when a gust asked if she would tell the truth Nazis looking for Jews hiding in her home.“I believe if I were in that situation, God would provide a way to do the right thing righteously. I believe that!… You never have to practice deception”[ThinkProgress, 9/15/10]

O’Donnell doesn’t believe in shades of gray.“There’s only truth and not truth. You’re either very good or evil. I went back to my dorm and asked myself what I was. If your principles aren’t grounded in absolute truth, you don’t know what to think.”[Wilmington News-Journal, 11/12/06]

In a lawsuit, O’Donnell falsely implied she was getting a masters at Princeton. In her suit, O’Donnell had considered not taking a job because “she had applied for admission to a Masters Degree program at Princeton University, to start in the fall of 2003, and was concerned that the ISI position would not fit with her plans.” However, as the Weekly Standard reported,“in fact, O’Donnell had not yet received her bachelor’s degree at that time and had not been accepted to a master’s program at Princeton.”[Weekly Standard, 9/12/10]

O’Donnell found the Middle East’s censorship ‘refreshing.’“I’ll tell you, I just came back from the Middle East, and it was refreshing. With all that is going on, it was refreshing not to be constantly bombarded with smut all the time.”[MSNBC, 3/23/04]

-sorry I had to edit out the rest. Topix space limit is to blame, not your views-
what is really sad is that people like Frank and too many others read things like this, and instead of saying, "maybe I should look into this myself; do so research" they say, "bunch of dirty tricks politics and liberal leftist propaganda".

sigh

Remember, Frank, you have often claimed to know Constitutional law (you even took a course) are a "strict constructionist" and always defer to "the intent of the founding Fathers". Let's examine taht view, shall we?

The Founding Fathers intent was to only allow the educated white male landowners to have any voice. The young, women, the uneducated and non whites were not supposed to be able to vote. For years many had to pass tests and PAY to be allowed to vote. So save the whining about how "liberals" do this and that, grow a pair and accept the responsibility for sitting on your ass for 30 years smugly voting for people who never had a chance of influencing anything.

Armchair quarterbacking is easy. Actually influencing the direction of our country requires a tad more than voting Libertarian and posting the same rants over and over on Topix.

I'm a bit confused today. Please clarify a few things if you will. Are you a registered Libertarian that always votes republican or a registered republican that always votes libertarian. Or just a tinfoil hat wearing tea party armchair whiner?

Why are you assuming racist-pedo, Daniel P., is anything other than an obnoxious, ignorant troll?

He doesn't care how looney O'Donnell is; she can't hold a candle to him....

Not so hard to understand. Americans tend to be more religious than other civilized Western nations. We might not always be devoutly religious, but we're still not so secular, especially when you move away from the coasts. Religious people are not always logical. And we also tend to vote for anyone who promotes "Christian" values...even when those people are flat-out idiots.
