Will Gay Marriage Pit Church Against Church?

The trouble they see is not just an America where general support for gay marriage will have driven a wedge between churches and the world, but between churches themselves.

It is true people can get high blood pressure by bad diets and lack of exercise. Same thing with smoking. However, these things are the result of poor choices. Its the same with lots of things. If you never smoke, you most likely will not get lung cancer. Same goes for gay sex and heterosexual sex. Both can be very dangerous.

Again, Sweetie, we have to look at the mitigating circumstances that influence those choices. Why is the rate dropping in the white gay male community and not the black? One is the socio-economic disparity between the two. While the Black community has made tremndous economic gains, it's among the urban/high unemployment/high drop-out rate thug youth low-down culture with its combination of sexual cross-over and homophobic climate-conservatism poverty seem to go hand in hand- that is making black wymyn the highest risk catagory for new infections. White, middle-class, higher socio-economic gay men find themselves in a climate of acceptance, which allows them to be more open and circumspect as to their choice of sexual partners, more able to actually know them as to exclusive anonymous sex, more cognizant of health issues including the cost of HIV drugs, more cognizant of the consequences of HIV infection, more congizant of safe sex practices and likely to use protection. Okay, none of this is engraven in stone, but it represents an accurate profile of the factors that influences sexual decisions and the likelihood that the individual will or will not use safe sex practices.

What in the world is your point? You can blame a whole lot of illness on "poor choices."

btw they are not just "surviving," they are living fully productive lives. One is a performer in Las Vegas and Atlantic City and the other is married with a child they adopted the day after she was born, from a straight woman who couldn't raise her own child.

Hon- would you agree that if a person does not engage in "risky" behaviors such as sex, smoking, drinking that their lives will be much better because they won't have to deal with the negative side affects that usually happens in these things?

There are different degrees of risk associated with everything you do.

It is far more risky to smoke your whole life than to have anal sex once in awhile.

It is far more risky to drink your whole life than to have anal sex once in awhile.

It is far more risky to walk down the street than it is to have anal sex all day every day with your spouse when neither of you have any STD's.

It is far more risky for any sexually active heterosexual to get AIDS than it is to have anal sex all day every day with your same-sex spouse when neither of you have any STD's.

It is far more risky to be a non-smoker working in a smoky restaurant than to smoke once in awhile.

Of course, anyone can get hit by a bus any day. Or struck by lightning. Or eaten by a shark.

And then you have genetic and lifestyle variations which make one person resistant to cancer even if they smoke more than another person.

Now, if you want to start excluding the gluttonous obese from marriage, because their behavior is infinitely higher risk than mine, that would eliminate most of the South from marriage (the few who are still married, since the highest divorce rate in the nation is in the bible belt.)

As usual, you have no point. Just hysteria, feigned concern for HIV, and your favorite - that prejudice which you love and hang onto more than anything. I'm sure Jesus loves and appreciates that.(P.S. He knows how full of it you are.)

<quoted text>
So all the times you've called us "fricking moron's" "stupid" "liars" (my favorite being "lying liars" LOL!) plus many other terms to many to mention, are all your ways of giving love? Pot calls kettle black.
If you speak like a moron, or if you speak in stupidity, or if you have lied as I recently showed you did, that is how I define what was said by that person.
But an adult purposefully calling another adult a name of a criminal, insinuating the person they are calling is a criminal, to make others laugh about, that is called verbal intimidation and cyber bullying. I could care less what nomo decides to call me. But the fact that she feels a need to "try" and belittle me and "try" to hurt me emotionally by calling me disrespectful names, all it does is reveal they type of person she is willing to bow down to being.
Nomo is a verbal cyber bully. She has defined herself as such for months. She teases vindictively and spitefully in hopes of hurting other peoples emotions so they'll resort to calling her the same names, thus giving her justification to continue to be a verbal cyber bully.
What she does to people in these threads is no different than what the verbal bully on a play ground does, when they purposefully and vindictively call another child names to make other kids laugh at that child.
Nomo is a verbal cyber bully. And you stick up for her why?

It's called cause and effect, something you always deny. If 5 members of the FLDS church get into polygamous marriages a day, it is the fault of the FLDS because it is what they teach. The same principle applies to LDS gay teens killing themselves. The only message they get from the LDS church and the members around them is how sick and disgusting they are. That creates low self worth, which leads to suicide. So yes, the LDS church, because of it's hateful teachings towards gays is killing them. She lives in the middle of Utah, she sees what is happening around her. You don't stuck in Alaska.
See, this is absolute proof of some of your stupid coming to the surface "again".
Nomo's original statement was... "The Mormon church has blood on its hands..there are 5 suicide attempts by teens and young adults per day, on average in Utah." ...and what do you do in you're idiocy of thought? You twist her words "..TEENS AND YOUNG ADULTS.." into "LDS gay teens".
We went over this in a different thread a long while back. Of course your memory is like your statements, twisted and empty. The state of Utah could have 90% Mormons. But they all don't attend church. So not all teens in Utah even know Mormon teachings because they don't go to church because their parents don't go. You're a prime example of this. You learned nothing of Mormon doctrine when you were a kid because you hated going so you didn't listen.
So for nomo to imply that these five attempts at suicide a day by teens and young adults are tied to that church, that's like claiming most marriages in Utah are preformed in the temples. NOT. Fricking stupid pathetic statements...lol. Any you of course believe any of the *hit nomo speaks because to you, she speaks the truth of God without ever lying and you'll go to the grave defending how truthful you believe all her statements are.
And when you show/reveal they type of thinking, that's when I call you a pathetic stupid moron because you would ask questions to see if what she claims is even true. You just want to so desperately to believe what she says is true.
Any questions?

It's impossible to know what specifically triggered David, but David's classmates attest that David was frequently bullied in school, and Queerty reports that on November 28th, a boy had sent David a singing telegram from another boy, "and though he laughed along with his classmates, his cousin revealed that he was indeed mortified."
David Phan's family, however, has always been accepting of his sexual orientation. Queerty reports that "David came out to his older brother and other family members a year ago. Then about three months ago, he came out to his mother and finally his father, Nhuan Phan, who hugged him, told him he loved him and wanted him to be safe." As reported by the Salt Lake Tribune, David's family said David was "well-loved with a strong family support system, but could not deal with the bullying and the burden of being a gay Asian student in a school they believe did not support him."

..
Ogden, Utah – Last Monday, another gay teenager from Utah took his life in response to intolerable bullying because of his sexual orientation.
With heartbreaking coincidence, Reese’s boyfriend, Alex Smith, spoke on Reese’s experiences with school bullying to a community event...

You really want more? There's a list. While strict Mormon parents are a minority of what drives a gay kid to take their life, as in other states, bullying in school seems to be the number one reason. And bullying in school resulting in a gay teen death is more prevalent in other "non-Mormon doctrine" influenced states than Utah. Meaning religious doctrine isn't the only thing in Utah driving kids to bully gay kids or causing gay kids to kill themselves.
So you can irrationally blame the LDS church all you want.

Another one of your ignorant/stupid statements. KKK the cause of racism? Racism existed before the invention of the word KKK came to be. Before a person donned a white robe and hood racism existed. Racism has existed for thousands of years. The KKK and other such groups may PROMOTE and ENDORSE racism but they sure the *ELL aren't the cause of it...lol. Racism is the hatred of one person for another and declares them self to be more superior in thought and deed than the one they are being racially motivated against. There are whites that endorse racism against other whites. You don't have to just have coloured skin to be a victim to racism and racial prejudice.

Alright lets move on. Since the health problems associated with homosexual sex is well documented (same goes for heterosexual sex) do you think Christ would approve of your relationship with your partner? If so, what scripture would you quote that affirms homosexuality?

Who cares what Jesus would do? Our laws aren't based on the Bible, but on the Constitution. If this were a theocracy, your question might have some merit. As it is not, it does not.

Since when do we curtail people's rights based on their participation in risky behaviors? Heterosexual couples can marry even if they engage in fireworks manufacturing, skydiving, shark wrestling, and even smoking unfiltered cigarettes while drinking gallons of vodka. And, heterosexual couples engage in the same behaviors that you say should preclude homosexual couples from getting married, but you don't support banning such heterosexual couples from marrying. So, engaging in risky behaviors is clearly not a valid reason to ban anybody from marriage. Nice try.
