Been there twice now. Food is ok. The first time I ordered a well done burger and it was like med/rare. The most recent time I went and ordered the Cajun Onion or whatever it's called and it was large chunks of onions barely battered and kinda lying in a pool of grease. Could have been WAAAAY better. The burgers don't come with lettuce and tomato either, which is strange (or at least mine didn't neither time). And I'm not a fan of waffle fries, which they serve there. I'd much rather have regular fries. Especially when they don't even cook the waffle fries well enough. Kinda like soggy under cooked potatoes. Anyway, wasn't incredibly bad but could be better. And since I went twice and got so-so food BOTH times, I'm assuming the cooks need to hone their skills still. Or they need new cooks. Will give it another try eventually maybe. But usually a place does GREAT with the food when they first come out, then go downhill. Not the other way around.

Sorry for your bad experience. We both, however, had a great one. Neither of us ordered burgers or the onions so cannot comment on those, but what we did order was delicious. We also loved the waffle fries so that's obviously down to personal preference so i wouldn't criticize them for trying something different. Normal fries are boring anyhow, EVERYWHERE serves them. Why eat something that you eat everywhere else. Kinda boring. They were also properly cooked when we went. Will be going again for sure.

You 'people' leaving the gay bar comments are all the same person making up stupid sounding names to post with. You're gonna get ignored from now on because i'm onto you. And for anyone reading, i live in Gettysburg and i can assure you that this isn't a gay bar. This person leaving the comments has probably never been because they keep refering to it as a 'bar' when it is NOT just a bar, it is also a restaurant. I have been and you can test my knowledge of the place.

And Babi - thanks for the advice.
welcome :]

Good evening to everyone who I have had the delight of reading all day long. My name is Keith Petters, and I am the owner of Blue & Gray Bar & Grill. I am writing solely to clarify some of the quite humorous falsities being spewn across the Internet by some people who choose to hide behind log in names. We are not a "gay" bar we are not a "straight" bar. I welcome anyone no matter what sexual orientation, race, religious belief etc... I encourage anyone who wants to have a good time to come and enjoy themselves. To those who chose to say such farthings with intent to discourage business this afternoon with no truth I would like to remind you that such could be considered slander and my lawyer will be looking into proper action (Ihave your IP addresses). To those who defended my business and supported me fulfilling a dream, thank you. And to those who commented on an experience that was not superb I whole heartedly apologize as we are stiill working out kinks in the kitchen and wait staff. Thank you for your criticism as it does not go on deaf ears and know that I spend 22 hours a day trying to make Blue & Gray a great place for everyone to eat and socialize. In closing, to those who have been supportive I thank you. To those who do not blog and tell me in person I thank you. To those who choose to say falsities about my business you will be dealt with accordingly. Thank you for your time. Hope riser you ALL soon.

Keith Petters.

it's only gay night when you & the alternate ego Jabez & Illannoying shows up. then it's sausage night at the bar. you guys can sit in the bar alone & take turns shrimping & pulling beads from yer asses!

thought about trying..hard to decide by the postings!!! If these are the customers it attracts, NOT OUR PLACE. GROW UP, and post comments about the food/service! This is 2012, EVERYWHERE is considered a place for EVERYONE!!! If YOU choose to frequent a business which labels itself, or limits access to a certain part of society...LET US KNOW, SO WE CAN AVOID IT. Hope it makes it, GETTYSBURG needs something new, GOOD and that can cater to both LOCALS and tourists the same.

The Sickles burger was great. Asked about the burger challenge: The five patties Burger can do. The one pound chilie cheese fries...not without a medic and a lot of pepto.
Do have a question for the owners of the Blue and the Grey. The Gettysburg Ghost chicken wings. Does the sauce have ghost chilie extract in the sauce? Person at work had some and that can be wicked stuff. If it does, it doesn't mean I wouldn't try the wings. I would.

If you have to try to promote your business on a message board, that's pretty desperate in my opinion. People will see it just as that I believe. Is business that bad?

A-town Observer, the thread started in response to an article about the opening of the new bar/grill in the Hanover Evening Sun. The owner's post was in response to slanderous statements made about the establishment, which have since been removed by the moderator. Actually I believe the business is doing rather well.

Nobody from the restaurant was trying to promote their business on here actually. They came on here to defend some very wild accusations that have since been removed by the owners/moderators of this forum. You obviously have not been reading regularly.
