Multiple missteps blemish tony Johnnie's Hideaway

Johnnie's Hideaway wasn't what I thought it would be. It was more. And less. I'd had a long time to think about it, too.

Scott, I have to agree with you. My wife and I had drinks and appitizers last week. Our bill was $109!

Nothing was outstanding, we also had the Day boat jumbo scallops. These were neither worth $21 or jumbo.

Even the quality of the drinks were poor.

Lets hope the tourists will go once, be ripped off and pay $75 for a three course meal.

Stone crab season starts in October and ends in April. A stone crab claw served in July would have been previously frozen. Frozen meat would be mealy and stick to the shell. P.S. Scott - Don't eat yellow snow.

Thanks Scott. I'm glad your job is safe. I'm pretty sure the Orlando Sentinel wouldn't be stupid enough to get rid of local food news.

Scott..why bother reviewing tourist restaraunts unless they are sending you there...no local will bother going down to LBV and the tourists that do,are pretty muck expecting to get the high hard one. I am a big fan of Ron W.'s restaurants, but only when it is on someone else's corporate credit card...was at Moonfish a couple weeks ago,$43 for Mahi, and they forgot to give me the whole fish!

I thought the same thing but we just got back from Boca and had dinner at Jake's Crab House - FABULOUS stone crab. They told us that the ones from the Bahamas are still in season.

I understand that Joe's is the only legal entity that harvests stone crabs. Not familar with Bahamian stone crabs...glad you enjoyed your meal which is all that matters...Used to go to Monty's in Boca before they closed @ Glades Mall...I'll research Jake's. Maybe Jake is Joe's brother via intertube from Bahama.

Scott Joseph is an idiot! I went to Johnnies Hideaway and thought it was excellent. I love all the Talk of the town restaurants and Johnnies is no exception. The restaurant is beautiful and the hospitality is over the top. We had a variety of food including the crab cake and the pan roasted scallops and thought they were perfectly prepared and delicious. My filet was great and my wife had the giant shrimp. She is still talking about it. The place was jammed with people. Maybe Scott Joseph should try opening a restaurant and review himself.

I went to Johnnie's with some friends and loved it. We sat on the tiki deck and listened to live music. The food was awesome. The manager came by and asked where we were from. He was a delight. This place was great. We will be back!!!!

Went to Johnnie's and it seemed like the meat was very past the right time to serve it. I swear it looks like they just picked the maggots out of it and served it very undercooked and very chewie. There was no pink center it looked like a deep shade of purple. The service was lousy and the music too noisy. I have had more enjoyable experiences at the Olive Garden.

Come one - Two in a row both from the same area in Georgia - What!~
Johnnie's is not good, in fact it is poor at best. Moon Fish is good, but very over priced as Vitos. You make money which is great, but you rip the convention and tourist traffic off. Locals do not eat in your restaurants.
You have a great bar in Moon Fish, but your staff are poor at best.
Sorry if the truth hurts
