Terribly written header for this article. This veteran was recieving money from the VA and failed to report additional income he recieved from other sources during a 16 month period. Hardly qualfies as embazzeling. For filing false claims he faces restitution of his veterans payments and 10 years in a federal prison. Restitution is OK but 10 years? That's more than drug dealers recieve and they are not required to pay anything back. This is a non-violent crime and after being sentenced, he should be placed on probation, not jailed, THIS TIME.

Veteran is 100% disabled and ONLY recieved $26,900 from the VA over 16 months? How does someone live on $1600.00 per month? Dopn't our veterans deserve more than a poverty level income for doing something that ruined their lives?
