Burma researchers are advised to trace Mrs. Helen Scott in Morningside, Edinburgh. Her late husband Ian Scott was a Burma Star Veteran. Ian Scott was addressed to as ' Uncle Ian' by HRH Crown Prince Shwebomin of Burma.
The Victory Club in Marble Arch is where Ian Scott would invite the Crown Prince to lunch or dinner.
Both Ian and Helen Scott doted on the Crown Prince.
Mrs.Helen Scott was a Sister at the Rangoon General Hospital where Daw Khin Kyi was a nurse. That is where Burma's hero General Aung San met his future wife Nurse Khin Kyi. She captured hid heart and tamed him. He was far too serious with the independence movement. He married Ma Khin Kyi, who is a Karen ( Kayin in Burmese) because he considered nursing a noble profession.
Aung San is a distant ((second) cousin of Prince of Natmauk, father of HRH Crown Prince Shwebomin, who was born in Aung Than's house in Magwe.
It is not known if Mrs. Helen Scott is still; hopefully, she still is. She is Anglo-Karen. Burmese researchers are urged to see her before too late. She may have very valuable historical knowledge of Burma, of the colonial era.
Another lady to see is Mrs. Susan McGrath or MacGrath, who lives in Wimbledon, London. She worked for BBC world service Burmese desk.
Max MacGrath died about 1989.
Good luck with your research.
