Let's see if the hypocritical teaparty House republicans want to shoot this down, with the rest....or, possibly, "Instant Religion"?

What a waste of money. If the culture of the VA does not change it will do no good. The way the VA is operated now, the budget could triple and it would on mean more money for buildings and the administrative staff to fill them without improving the quality of the VAs healthcare. The buildings that the VA already owns or leases are under utilized now. How about a second shift of healthcare providers? How about being open on weekends? The VA needs more COMPETANT healthcare providers or better yet, the Veterans need the option to seek healthcare WHERE EVER they choose, WHEN EVER they need it. Why are veterans the only people in this country that do not have the choice (or RIGHT) to seek healthcare from a different source if that source is not available OR that source is incompetant?

Many of todays veterans are being treated by Nurse practioners or Physcian Assistants, without their knowledge or approvial, for problems that are "above their paygrade". Worse yet, some veterans are treated as guinea pigs at VAs which are affilitated with teaching hospitals.

Give every veteran a healthcare card that they can use when and where they need to WITHOUT the VA's prior approvial and lets see if the VA can actually rise to the level of being able to compete with the private sector.
