If you honestly believe that, then you don't understand how the POTUS is elected. A vote in Cali has NO EFFECT on a vote for POTUS cast in Arizona.

It's a forgone conclusion that nobody seriously disputes, that The Obamaniac will win Cali's electoral votes, and that Romney will win Arizon'a electoral votes. Since we are in different states, your vote will have NO effect on the vote or outcome in Arizona.

And since we're talking about how we elect the POTUS, my vote is worth MORE than your vote, as smaller states get MORE reprsentation in the Electoral College than larger states. And since Cali is the most-populous state, Cali is the LEAST-represented sate in the Electoral College. HA !

The battleground states will be Ohio, Florida (which Bush won fair and square in 2000), North Carolina, and Virginia. And I think ALL 4 of those states will go Republican.

A good nonpartisan site where you can calculate various scenarios and that also has POTUS election historical information: http://www.270towin.com

How do they "cancel out" ?! That's NONSENSE ! It takes a minimum of 270 electoral votes to be elected POTUS. There's no "cancelling out". If you honestly believe that there is such a thing as "cancelling out" then PLEASE, DON'T VOTE !

If The Obamaniac and his cohorts in Congress are doing so well and the American people approve of them, then why is it that in the past elections they threw the Democrats out of office in record numbers ?

Nancy Pelosi ("We have to pass the bill to find out what's in it." (Instead of actually reading it)) LOST the House Speakership. Remember ??? Why is that ?

The only votes that count are the ones that create the majority.

That's what is meant by "swing States".

After all the "for" and "against" are tallied against each other, what's left decides the race.

Oh. That's right! You didn't do well with simplifying equations, did you.

I agree that the swing states will decide the election, and on other threads I have named the swing states that I think will decide the election. I believe the four MOST IMPORTANT swing states will be Ohio, Florida, North Carolina, and Virginia. And I believe that the Republicans will win ALL of them.

Obviously there is no reason for either party to campaign hard in states like Cali and New York, which the Democrats will win handily, and states like Texas and Georgia which the Republicans will win easily. The race comes down to at most 10 swing states. And those few swing states is where both parties should put 90% of their resources.

As usual nice to see you and read your posts.

I do hope you are right and all 4 swing states go republican. I do think that NC which a Christian group I give money to will be running ads will go republican.

California is definitely not a done deal. SoCal and the Central Valley are very conservative, and together are far more populous than the Central Coast and North. We also have a Senate seat, and House seats up for grabs due to reapportionment.

Also, Cali has just instituted a new "top two" voting system for non-Presidential Offices that is guaranteed to create a lot of invalid ballots this Primary, and probably in November as well.

Californis is Obamaniacland. He could appear at the Academy Awards with a machinegun and slaughter everyone there and Cali would STILL vote for him. Poor Ronny has been spinning in his grave at 2000 rpm since The Obamaniac was elected.

btw, the Dems in Cali now have total control of the state government. Governor Moonbeam is a Dem, the Assembly has a Dem majority, and the Senate has a Dem majority.

California's budget deficit has swelled to a projected $16 billion, much larger than had been predicted just a few months ago, and it will force severe cuts to schools and public safety.

The Dems are ALWAYS financially IRRESPONSIBLE wit the taxpayers' money. Why should people put the Dems in charge if they're going to bankrupt the states, as they have already done to the federal government ?
