Immigrating is no joke, it is very upsetting. Don't do it unless you absolutely have to.
The children are the first to learn English well, and the parents must depend on them to translate.
I have known people who complained about the deficiencies and problems of US and then went back and found they had become too american to fit in.
Friend of mine brought up in Paris laughed and groaned constantly at Florida. When I asked him why he didn't just go back to Paris he said he would never be able to run his on business in France, or even have as good a job.
Another friend who always identified himself as Hungarian went back to Hungary while it was still commie. Someone started to hassle him about rules and regulations, he stood up and said for first time in his life I am an american and don't have to put up with your commie nonsense.

I had immigrant relatives and friends who spent their lives moaning about what they had done. Waste of time. Going back for a visit might help.
My friend still nips back to Paris for a week or two when he needs something to look at.

Some people just live in the ethnic enclave - Little Italy, Chinatown, Brighton Beach - for life. i suppose Dearborn is that for muslims.
