I took an elderly neighbor to Catholic Charities food bank and I am disgusted. I couldn't believe the quality of food they distributed to our elderly and poor. It was utterly disgusting. My neighbor had to throw out most of the food because it was inedible. My husband and I took her to the grocery store and stocked her cupboards and fridge with good healthy fresh foods and we plan to help her again. Instead of giving my envelope in the basket at Mass on Sundays We will now use our substantial tithe to make sure our neighbor has decent food to eat. That food given out at Catholic Charities I wouldn't even give that slop to a pig farmer to feed his pigs. Its disgusting.

The money given at mass and to Catholic Charities is used to help pay for lawsuits and to relocate pedophile priests. That is the Church's priority.

Maybe you should just pick out the can and box foods she wants and cook at home.

I didn't know my Sister in law was in dire straights until she told us she went to the food pantry at that Catholic Charities Place. She said they gave moldy bread out to her and a lot of badly dented cans of food she was afraid to eat.
