The ONLY people who care about kwanzaa are racist white right wingers who like to hold it up as some kind of big bad black seperatism thing, when in fact almost no black people celebrate it or can even tell you when it is, lol.

So enjoy Kwanza this year white racists, YOURE the only ones who do

my family celebrates kwanzaa with some other aa. it's a real shame so few aa observe. but it was never properly promoted in the aa community.

maybe with the obama's celebrating kwanzaa it might pick up a little. imo, aa really need to show more love and respect for their culture and history.

**these types of ethnic traditions help to bring a community together.

they are not traditions, just a silly made up "African" holiday by a jailbird rapist and thug who knew nothing about Africa. Anyway, you don't live in Africa, so wake up.

why don't wp get all worked up over cinco de mayo or some other ethnic celebration? some of these jokers just amaze you.

kwanzaa is observed cuz its not promoted. like say the hip-hop culture is promoted so we see it all over the place.

the obama's celebrate kwanzaa, maybe this will help. aa need to develop positive traditions that connect us as a community.

I dont, nor does my family, do Kwanzaa.
I hate that it was made up by a criminal and I hate that it basicaly mimics hanukkah with a few black changes. blah
@ disaster...it hasnt taken off because it's phoney. I know its about peace and togetherness...yada yada yada. We can find a way to pratice that without the fake black hanukkah.
@ the nosey non blacks...this isnt your issue. Run along now.

kwanzaa wasn't established by a criminal. dude's arrest happened years later. and you ain't celebrating karenga, it's not about him..

'i know its about peace and togetherness...yada yada yada'

i don't know how many bp understand the importance of community and establishing traditions that tighten your community.

kwanzaa is fundamentally bout self-love and celebrating and promoting the aa community. these are exactly the types of cultural traditions aa need to help build a functional society.

concepts like kwanzaa and black liberation theology would put in place to help repair all the cultural damage from so many hundreds of years of slavery and jim crow.

You know,... i have really never understood Kwanzaa myself. I do know that its not a real holiday to take off work or school for and its not really a celebration. But i will not knock any one down that wishes to celebrate this ceremonial activity.

OK. Since he was arrested after the creation of kwanzaa, does that make him less of a criminal, a woman beater... or a sexist pig for that matter. As a woman, I cant leave that out. I dont care if he was a saint. Kwanzaa is still a hannukah knock off.

"i don't know how many bp understand the importance of community and establishing traditions that tighten your community."

BP know this, the issue is being discussed constantly. kwanzaa is not the way. If it was, it wouldve worked in 1966. PPL see the bs...the utter disgrace in kwanzaa. How do you preach black pride and rip off the Jews in the same breath? No thank you.

judaism is an african religion/culture. i'd suggest you checkout 'the africans who wrote the bible' by darkwah. and aa are directly connected to nile cultures including 'judaism'.

these are the types of things most aa would know by now if they took the promotion of their history culture and community, seriously.

you recognize MLK day? do you know bout all his affairs?

people aren't saints and these things aren't bout celebrating individuals. just look at the post civil rights era decay in the aa community.

intelligent people know that aa need a cultural revolution if they're to survive and thrive. and that's the point.

communities don't just adopt a new tradition just because someone thought it up. it needs to be promoted, in the church and media, and by other high profile public figures. that's how these things take off, and it never happened.

Its much like the decay seen throughout this nation; America has never really had one solid "culture". Instead its a slop of containing a thousand different ethnic groups, its a hindrance.

AAs need to be xenophobic and truly honor their own.

I would have no problem with any legitimate African or African-American cultural practice.

The reason people got bothered by Kwanzaa, and I mean real people, not racists, is that Karenga who created it is a despicable, disgusting, violent, misogynist and extremely racist individual. I've had to deal with some of his “Us Organization” clones and drones, and they are bad news any way you look at it.

Karenga himself was in prison for torturing a woman. He is a megalomaniac and colossal asshole in several dimensions.

Anyone has the right to be aware and concerned of such a flaming racist as “Maulana” Ron “Karenga”.

Wrong. Hebrew religion came out of Mesopotamia. It is not African nor were the Hebrews.

Karenga is a serious nasty bastard. One should reasonably question anything associated with him. Racists like him are best fed to the wildlife.

Usually that is attributed to Abraham. He lived in Ur of Chaldea (not in Africa), but he was from the northern Levant, in modern Turkey.

He was not African. He was a J2-type Eurasian, probably descended from the same people who'd invented the Neolithic in that same area of the northern Levant.

i don't know how scripture would support the idea that abraham was the originator of judaism.

abraham represents a 'seed' and several covenants. but abraham didn't even know the name 'YHWH', according to the bible. and he wasn't circumcised til his later years, while circumcision had been practiced by hamites a long time before him.

abraham didn't receive any laws or commandments from 'god'. and he paid homage to a hamitic priest - melchizedek. who christ is compared to.

and abraham's father may have been an egyptian:
http://jandyongenesis.blogspot.com/2011/04/te...

the africans who wrote the bible is a powerful book that makes an overwhelming case, that judaism is african. and itself seems to support this.

try this out. if someone spoke arabic, followed islamic traditions, and called their god 'allah', what would you assume bout that person?

well the hebrews lived with hamites and married hamites, spoke their languange, followed their traditions, and had hamitic names for their god - adonai, El, yhwh...
