Memories of downtown shopping seasons past
Many of our readers remember when peach jam was something to be spread on toast, not a slug of cars inching its way up Peach Street during the height of the holiday shopping season.

the downtown business district was supposed to save downtown erie. instead it has been nothing but a patronage job for incompetents. brenda "the backstabber" sandberg did the most damage to downtown. she had no experience with small business or managing any type of operation. but she was always up joe sinnot's rectum so she got the job. businesses left quickly under her lack of leadership and crime increased. trash never really got picked up and snow removal was no better. sandberg did nothing to improve parking or control the mental patients that roam downtown. she was replaced by a guy who was paid as a consultant to help small businesses downtown. he must have encouraged them to leave because there are only a handful left. the joe sinnott bumpouts will bring people back. and the giant pillars on perry square are sure to rejuvenate downtown.
