By Request: Chopped steak

Asato Komata wrote in for a good recipe for one of his favorite dishes, accompanied by an interesting question: "Why is Chop Steak not found in recipe books?" My guess is it's so basic and homespun that hardly anyone bothers to write the recipe down.

I remember, Paul and his mother made the best chop steak at their Masu's Massive Plate Lunch. They started small in Kakaako, then moved to Liliha St. Then retired. Any chance of getting the recipe? They had some other ingredients in the dish as well.
