There may be a lot to choose from in their menu, but the quality of the food does not even compare to Mikes Inland Seafood. I did enjoy the Mahi Mahi sandwhich but the side items weren't that great. I also got a Homemade Crab Cake as an Appetizer and it tasted like raw sewage.

We went for lunch and had 'grilled fish',. It came to the table as if it had been pulled from the garbage. I asked if they had steak at lunch, and no they did not. (So much for Seafood and Steak). I got a dried up hamburger. Our area was not clean. We will not go back.

This was one of the worst restaurant experiences we have had- we had to wait over an hour for our food, then when they brought it the food was cold- we figured they let it sit while trying to figure out what to do about running out of the baked potatoes we had ordered- without asking they substituted small bowls of cold "rice pilaf" which was like Uncle Bens out of a box- the shrimp was like rubbery balls of fried grease, the mahi mahi was overcooked and tough with no flavor, the hushpuppies were hard greasy lumps the size of marbles. It seemed like everything was fried in old grease- but hard to tell as little as we ate. When our waitress volunteered to get a reduction on our bill because the food was so bad, and we had eaten almost nothing-(her suggestion) she came back and said "the best they would do was 10% off" (of a $40.00 bill) She begged us to come back and give them another try- but why would we? The salad bar was good- EVERYTHING else was terrible- it's a shame, we could use a nice fish restaurant in Boone, but these folks don't have a clue about cuisine or customer service. If the owners had been at least apologetic or more accomodating we may have come back, but instead I am writing this review and warning everyone I know.

The wife and I ate there Thursday night also.We ate our food but it was just run of the mill fried crap. I was disappointed when I learned it was mean Betty's restaurant because I knew it would be nothing special.
If you want seafood in Boone go to Mike's

I think this place is WAY overpriced for what it is. If I wanted frozen seafood I would have gotten it somewhere else for A LOT cheaper.

Do you people have nothin better to do than complain about things?!?!?! Go somewhere else if you are not satisfied...Its a new resturant give them time...And runnin a resturant is not cheap or easy...if you think you can do better go for it and see how you feel when people bash you...for the good lords sake...get a life already...

It surprises me that there have been this many bad reviews. My coworkers and I tried it a few weeks after it opened, for lunch I should add, and we were pleased with the food quantity & quality; whereas the service was a little slow. We were also pleased with the lunch prices. Another set of coworkers went the next day for lunch, based on our recommendations, and one chewed out the manager about the oysters- apparently she got 7 dime-sized niblets they passed off as oysters. I also noted that the supper prices are high for being generic seafood, but I guess ol' Betty thinks she can bilk the system since she also has Mtn House.
Final thought: If you go for lunch & skip the oysters, it's great. If you want a seafood supper, go to Mike's- they've been at it a LOT longer.

I agree that their food was ok, & Jeff is super nice. However, I do agree with the person above that it is WAY overpriced. But I disagree with the guy who says to go to Mike's. They are too greasy-I dont like their food very much. If you want good seafood w/o going to the beach & you are willing to drive you need to go to the Harbor House in Abington, VA. You go thru Mtn City & its only bout 1 1/2 hours from Boone. I didnt care for the service, except for when Jeff waited on us. I agree that they are a new place & they need time, and I will try it again later on when they have been open a while. I would reccommend atleast trying it!

Not good! Mediocre food priced like it was a 'real' restaurant.
Mike's Inland isn't great, but it's way better than this. Of course, so is Captain D's.
