What kind of a name is that? No one can spell or pronounce it. Just screams "ghetto".

The K sounds like a Q. People have lost the meaning to Christmas and it is not GHETTO AS YOU SAY. It's about family

I'll bet some people in Kenya would wish a certain person in america remembered KWanzaa when spreading the wealth while living in a bamboo hut with no lecktricity.

But barack did toss them some cash for solar panels, so at least it'll be comfy until the sun goes down when it gets cold....bwahahahaha, liberal morons.

I enjoyed that article. I don't know why some of you made fun of this, or why others have made fun of Kwanzaa in other places. This sounds very admirable to me:

"The family and several others will focus each day of the holiday on each of the seven key principles that Kwanzaa is based on: unity, self-determination, collective work and responsibility, cooperative economics, purpose, creativity and faith."

I especially like this:

"Celebrating their heritage and focusing on values, he said, separates Kwanzaa from the consumerism that has come to influence the holiday season."

I don't know a whole lot about Kwanzaa, but it sounds like something very admirable. They even have Kwanzaa Committees organized. If I was African American I'd want to celebrate it.

I doubt he celebrated Kwanzaa. I wonder if one reason Kwanzaa hasn't caught on is that it isn't something liberals would be attracted to.

According to the article, the celebration emphasizes tradition and family. Those are things liberals don't find attractive.

You could also make the case that some or even most of the seven principles of Kwanzaa aren't things liberals find attractive, especially self-determination. So no wonder Kwanzaa hasn't caught on more than it has in the black community. Not because blacks themselves, as a whole, don't find these ideas attractive but because their leadership is dominated by liberals.

Those people who have found their way into positions of black leadership have bought in to liberalism, and have sold out to it. Just look at Al Sharpton. He is an ordained minister. He was very much against gay marriage, but then had a revelation, and now he is for it. And really, he'd be a hypocrite if he wasn't, being that he has bought into the ideology of liberalism, hook, line, and sinker. It's almost as if he has caught himself in a trap.

Barack Obama is the same way. He was once against it, had a "relevation," and now is all for it -- if reluctantly. Communist party elites acted the same way after the fall of communism. Literally overnight, after having extolled the values of communism, then became uber capitalists extolling the free market!
