Go to Wanchese. Most of the fishouses will sell to you straight from the dock. Wanchese Fish Company has a retail store out front that they seel fresh seafood from.

Definitely #1 Blue Water Seafood in Corolla is great store, fresh seafood, clean store, nice people and they will steam your shrimp for you or pack it on ice to take with you.# 2 Carawan in Kitty Hawk they were referred to us by Blue Water as a local year round supplier of fresh seafood. They did a great job with our company christmas party last year

Gonna put in a hearty second for Big Eye. Small, family run place @ mile post 5. Selection is all top notch and fresh; clean establishment with a super-friendly staff. But probably the best part is that they have a small kitchen and serve up some of the best fried seafood I've had anywhere.

O'Neils Seafood Harvest in Wanchese. It's just inside the industrial seafood park. Fresh seafood daily. Plus... New this year Steamed seafood and take out lunches.
