This has been a systemic problem throughout many VA hospitals throughout the US / it is not, nor ever was, indigenous to the Obama Administration, as desperately as you would like to believe.

I bought a damned yellow ribbon bumper magnet! Now what do these troops want? The only reason you enlisted is because you couldn't get your GED. Now I have to baby sit you until you're dead? You got paid for your work like the rest of us. Go to a real hospital and stop thinking you're special!

Yeah, yeah, whatever. I'm a vet too and get half pay till I die, cheap medical care, cheap liquor, cheap cigarettes, etc, etc. It's all a scam. I got paid for my service and got a fat pension but I want more, more, more. There are real people suffering out there. If these people were so sick, then why didn't the go to an emergency room? Afraid they'd have to open their wallets?

What good is an empty wallet. I'm a veteran who was lucky enough to escape my military service in one piece. I have my own insurance and seek out my own medical care providers. Some of which I must pay for "out of pocket" because of my deductable requirements. I also utilize some resources from the VA. Why not? That's my right. The problem I have is that too many veterans ONLY have the VA to depend on for their healthcare and the VA has proven itself to be incompetant of providing that care time after time and yes that has been a proble with the VA for many many years. It will ALWAYS be a problem for the VA Healthcare system. You can never expect a taxpayer funded anything to keep up with the for-profit private sector. While the private sector must battle the competition to be first with the best, the taxpayer funded operations have no need to compete and must wait for the proper funding to make any progress.

The solution? Eliminate the taxpayer funded VA healthcare system and give every veterans a healthcare card they can use whereever they choose. Let the private sector compete for the opportunity to privide our veterans with the best healthcare they can find and not leave these veterans dependent on the VA's third world medicine.

I don't care how far back it goes. If there were violations of law that have not exceeded legal time limitations for prosecution, than everyone involved needs to be prosecuted. If it was "only" administrative violations, go back as far as it is legally possible and penalize everyone involved. If they were involved and have retired, go after all or part of their retirement income. Everyone understands losing money. If they "earned" their money by screwing over our veterans, they need to be slapped down, HARD! That way, the next generation of VA employees will think a long time before attempting something this stupid. By the way, I would go after EVERYONE from the bottom at the top. The old, "I was just following orders", did not work for the Nazis after WW2 and it should not work for the low level VA employees today. I would make them PROVE that they did not know that treating some veterans differently from others was not wrong. Otherwise they can twist in the wind right along with the top management who created or approved the abuse of our veterans.

There are people out there that cannot afford the cost of medical care and I am one of them. I have had 5 failed back surgeries and headed for one more. How much do you think I should pay being on SSDI? I have nothing left to hock, nothing I can pawn, so how do I pay my bills? I didn't get a big fat pension like you did but you want more, more, more...? Well go to work for a living, wish I could!

No wonder you're "Mad". Best wishes to you.

Sadly you are a prime example of how the VA has failed its veterans. The VA should be so good that it would be every veterans health care provider of FIRST choice not the veterans LAST and ONLY choice for health care.

Give every veteran a health care card and let them chose who provides their care. IF the VA can improve, it could than attempt to compete with the private sector to be the veterans health care provider. If the VA cannot compete, CLOSE IT DOWN. Closing the VA and using private sector health care providers would probably be much cheaper than maintaining all of these little fifedoms that we call VA Medical Centers and clinics. We are just now beginning to see how badly the current system works. It's time for a change.

U.S. should treat the Vets as good as they treat illegals. Why don't the guys who fight for us-get at least Medicaid?
