I think a plain reading of teh U.S. Constitution makes it OBVIOUS that gay and lesbian Americans HAVE A CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT TO MARRIAGE.

There are many reasons I believe this, but at it's most basic, it is a question of RELIGIOUS FREEDOM which is SPECIFICALLY PROTECTED by the First Amendment.

Many religious institutions allow gay and lesbian people to marry in their institution and give it their blessings. Should states, AND THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT be allowed to choose WHICH religious marriages they "like and approve of" and which religious marriages they DON'T "like and approve of" ?! This s EXACTLY one of the things the First Amendment was designed to prevent.

How about NOT "liking and approving of" Roman Catholic marriages because a majority of Americnas are Protestant and the U.S. was established by Protestant people ? How about NOT "liking and approving of" Hindu marriages because they are not leading a "Christian lifestyle" ? The list can go on and on...

OBVIOUSLY we have the Constitutional RIGHT to marry whom we please, and the First Amendment does NOT "grant" that RIGHT, but PROTECTS that RIGHT !

Savage gets it wrong like most average sheep.

The ruling will NOT be on whether there is a Constitutional Right to marry!

It will be on whether it is Constitutional to discriminate against gay people when it comes to Marriage.

NOT the same thing at all.
