Heaven forbid the bible thumpers have to share a night with those devil worshipping trick or treaters!

I thought Halloween is a religious event... It is a little removed from what it once was. But nonetheless...

It was originally a night set aside to ward off evil spirits...

In this day and age most churches offer a safer altnernative to taking kids on the street and begging for candy from strangers anyway. Do not see where it is going to make any big difference.

Well since they want to change it, lets change it to the weekend and not have it on a SCHOOL night!

what does it hurt a town changing trick or treating a day earlier so that the kids don't have 2 miss church? I wish they'd do that in our town but church is more important than kids getting candy. Some Churches don't think Halloween is night for devil worshiping. And I think calling them "bible thumpers" is not a very nice choice of words. Your child's soul should b more important than a bag of candy.

lol...no law against that unless done in public without a fire permit. In which case it is against the law. As an aside, it would be wise to avoid jumping OVER the bonfire while naked. Just sayin'

I think it's silly, I don't like celebrating holidays on any other day but that day! Halloween is on Halloween, nobody can help if it falls on a Wednesday or Sunday!

It IS ignorant to change the day. But look at the Commission. This is only one of many stupid things this group of commissioners have done over the last several years. I will be very pleased when one by one they are eliminated from their offices.

I don't understand. I don't go to church. I do really want to believe in something because I want to believe so bad that my mother who isn't alive is watching over me. However, i'm not a "bible Thumper." But what I have to say about this is, what's the big deal? They change it all the time so it doesn't have to be on a Fri or sat just so its safer. So why does anyone care that its going to b moved one day? None ever complained when they change the weekends to a weekday.

Halloween doesn't have a religious group! There is no religion based on Halloween.

I don't need your sympathy. As far as evolution, a) we aren't descended from apes and b) there's far more evidence to support evolution than there is to support Sky Daddy.
