The Merriam Webster Dictionary defines "compassion" as "a feeling of wanting to help someone who is sick, hungry, in trouble, etc." Most members of the Performance Party think compassion is a virtue and many politicians find the appearance of compassion to be a useful tool in winning votes. Many Independents never tire of claiming compassion for the poor and disadvantaged as their exclusive concern and always attack conservative Performance Party Trustees for their supposed lack of compassion.

Their supposedly superior claim on compassion - to their mind - gives them the moral high ground over Performance Party Trustees who they caricature as selfish and not concerned about the poor. But Indpendents do not declare compassion for every group. Taxpayers or entreprenurs for example are not often the object of liberal compassion even in their rhetoric.

Have this ridiculous Gala to celebrate what? Boundaries? Legal paperwork? This is a fool's errand. Setting this Gala up is a ploy to call the loyal subjects forward to bow before the Ruling Party.

Genuine compassion is not selective as to only a specific group that benefits but seeks to find solutions fair to all people.

and boy are my arms tired.
Most members of the Performance Party are gone baby, gone.
The new Independents are not attacking anyone but the nogoodnicks.
We are celebrating a 100 years of our town's existance and you do not have to show up.
We are going to have a good meal without any lindburger cheese in sight.

I think next time you dip into the sauce you should steer clear of the nearest keyboard. Your rambling missive makes absolutely NO sense. Go back to the children's table, please.

That is the liberal message writ large. You say you care about the downtrodden. You want government to solve all problems. In our local level you give lip-service to running day to day business of government and beat your chest to impose order when things don't go right. Then you want to throw a party, no wait, a "Gala" to celebrate the dysfunctional organization that you are part of. And then you will ridicule a true patriot who believes in something stronger. Something constitutional and moral. Go on about your exclusional way. Keep the needy out of your "Gala". Keep saying the sky is not falling.

Don't worry about who was excluded Tea Party person...think about the "leaders" who didn't lead because they didn't show. The old mayor flew in from Florida to tell a little story to the crowd but there was a few of the big time CR Power Brokers who didn't bother to show up. When they start getting excluded they will have no one to blame. Where were the top dogs? That was their time to shine.

Are you talking about the two Power Brokers selling chances to win the jersey? What was that all about? I wonder who's idea that was.

Just a gathering of angry old people and political hacks and wannabes. Remember when the entire village board was convicted of corruption by the Feds ?

It was a very nice party without politics so please don't criticize. Food good. Music good. People friendly. The stuff that went on in the 70's should stay in the past. Those folks have all moved on.

did anyone notice who was not at the party? what's wrong Mike? Was it too expensive to fly in a couple days early to attend the gala, or were you too busy using your political connections to cheat taxpayers? Time will tell.

You get what you pay for. With the salary they pay your going to get someone who could not be an administrator anywhere else. It'll be a puppet for the current village administration.
