Sure it stinks and they're destroying the most beautiful place on earth, and they think they can own something they will never truly own. And, Spector, it's been going on over 1500 years. The Truth, the problem of letting them fight it out and kill each other off is that innocents get hurt and killed, also.

What is so bad is the number of Christians, who for one reason or another, usually, coercion, have joined their ranks. In the Christian communities this has had the same effect as the Civil War here had, pitting brother against brother, cousin against cousin. The Christians need to stand together united, not separate, not with these foreign factions who wish to tear Lebanon apart. This is the birth place of Christianity, the birth place of Western culture, why then should we not protect Lebanon? We must get involved because if Lebanon falls into their hands, it is the start of the demise if Western Civilization.

Back in 1983 the U.S. marine corp. and u.s. embassy were attacked by hezbollah. We left almost right after and things went south. This is why we can not leave Iraq and why these people will not stop. Had we not left Beirut when we did they would not have gone 20 years under chaos.
