Can a trademark registration protect a not yet used domain name?

I have registered some domain names regarding a name of a future product. This name is not a trademark by anyone yet.
Is it possible to register an intend to use trademark for this product name in order to protect the domain name?
It will still be one to two years until the product will be available and the domains can be made use of. So I am worried that anyone might register a trademark or establish a trademark by use in the following months (after I have registered the domain now) and than challenge my domain because of his newer trademark.
Is it possible to prevent such future events by filing an intent to use trademark?
Thanks a lot!
