Trademark Brand Name vs. Company Name

I am in the process of creating a "with intent" trademark for a liquor/spirit product. We'll just call the brand name "X".
What is the legal procedure if I file for a trademark for all goods associated with liquors and the brand name "X", and someone in my state creates a company called "X Spirits" a few months before my trademark is processed.
Will my trademark be denied because someone has named their company what I am planning on naming my liquor?
Thanks for the help!
