Vioxx claimants rush to join $4.85B settlement as deadline nears

Thank you for answering me. I just find it hard to believe that everything will be finalized. I'm afraid to believe it . . . . my husband died at 43 after a heart attack (vioxx). Left me with two sons to raise. The settlement will mean a very bright future for them.

I went before special master may 11 because points did not change at appeal and have not heard a word since. I don't think it will ever happen .I am so tired of waiting it has taken forever to get to this point, My patience has run out.......

Got points on June 25, was told "check in the mail" next week. Called BigDog Lawyer Firm yesterday, 7th of JULY, and - maybe - check will be cut today and - maybe - will be snailmailed Certified Letter sometime this week. MAYBE... Jeez, this is killing me, I'm 68 years old going on 90. Pharm - a big 10-4 on our little humerous bickering contest, if we can't have fun - what's the point

Right on, "MJA", congratulations! that you are finally hearing something, maybe there is end in sight. Cannot wait until after Sept. 30th to see if this has finally ended for all. But who am I going to fight with? Ha, thought I'd add a little humor. We sure need it after all this. Maybe Friday will be your day.

we got check our about two weeks ago. I am embarrased to say for me it was peanuts...The lawyer took 40% and the rest was almost nothing. It should be a law against that. My father died as a result of that medicine. It didnt compensate us at all. It was almost nothing. Sorry to say that...

REPORT your lawyer. Judge Fallon ruled on 32% total. Your lawyer screwed you out of 8%. REPORT him to the stats bar or Judge Fallon

It's time for some good news, it's Friday! Unless vacations have gotten in the way, and from the way this site is looking, nobody has got anything, vacation time must be all through July. Must be nice. Job security, I would say.

do you suppose ,, that these firms some how hold awarded moneys , for interest gains . several million held for a couple months , wouldn't be chump change - ps mja who is your firm , mine is vlc i passed gates may 6 and also no more news ??????

Jack, are you saying you have not received your points? If you passed the gates 5/6 you should have gotten your points shortly after unless you fell into one of their audits. I'd call your attorney and ask why no points yet.

"MJA", maybe this coming week surely for you. No one seems to be hearing anything, maybe B/G took off the whole month of July. my oinion only, but it is strange that clients of the VLC seem not to be getting their monies. I think they are holding out to see the outcome of the fees cap. Just a thought.

Unfortunately not everyone who passes the gates are getting points "shortly" I am on day 102 and still waiting for points. My case is a death case and there are very few medical records since most were purged. Who knows how these will be worked out. Probably not allot of points.

Hay everyone, Help, lawyer called in June and said i was awarded my points but they were appealing HP. I did not have HP. I heard nothing until Friday and they called and said they needed to call Primary dr for records from 1998 3 yrs before MI. I was 43 so i never went to dr. i was not sick. Now she said maybe they will take back the points and find me ineligable. How can they do this? I would like to hear if this happened to anyone else. thank you for your help....

Yeah, I guess there are cases where more records are needed to evaluate points. Guess I can understand the delay if they have to request more records or they need more medical background. More wait time involved.
