ccol - this is a great idea I think - to hard to keep up with the ongoing threads, and miss so much good information trying to figure out where I left off. 1 month 1 day quit for me - how cool is that!

If you add the last page to your favorites,(or bookmark) each time, then next time you come back it will bring you to where you left off. Congrats on your 1 month anniversary. How did you celebrate it?

Cindy, were you laying low like I was last week? I can relate if you were. I think it is a good thing though that I was able to stay away from the board more. It's like Viki always says, the thoughts of smoking become less and less. I couldn't live w/o this board the first 3 weeks. I still can't if I'm honest. If I don't keep coming back, I may forget where I came from and then I may repeat it. I need to hear all the new people share their fears and show their courage as they make it through their first day.

I was so scared that first day. I had no idea what to do, what to say, how to act. I do know that I loved the smell of my body spray and lotion and really loved that when I woke that 1st smoke free morning, the smell was still there. I love that I don't have to worry about ashes on my back seat of the car, I have no more butts on my lawn or in my driveway. I can go on and on...

Morning all!

Another smoke free weekend coming up! Hope everyone is doing good.

I like the idea of a new thread each month but somehow people still post on the other one also.

Day 40 here for me already. Just amazing to me.

FYI
We have seven people here where I work either on or have been on chantix (40 total employees).
Three of us are off the chantix and cigarettes, none had adverse affect from stopping chantix.
Two have failed and given up, and the other two are not smoking and still taking chantix.
Smoking quit dates run between 1/15/07 and 5/23/07.
If this holds, Id say pretty darn impressive!!

Mark,

Those are pretty good statistics! I'm curious why the other 2 had failed and given up. Were they on chantix a long time or had just started?

Refresh my memory mark. Your no longer on chantix right?

I honestly can't wait until i'm off of it. I'm not sure why i want off of it so bad because it's been a wonderful pill.

Congrats Kat to the start of your new smoke free life!

Hopefully you took that first pill with some food and plenty of water.

I drink milk before taking mine and then take it with water. I haven't gotten sick yet doing it that way. I think the milk coats the stomach.

Let us know how it goes.

Mark! way to go, I have read some other replies about the failures...I dont want to hear about them, that is self explanitory...they just didnt want to quit....What I would like to know is out of the other two that have since gone off the Chantix, how many of those are women that had no side effects?

Jan,
Of the failures one took chantix for 4 weeks the other for only 2.
Both would not or could not just put the cigarettes down.
I tried to encourage them but it didnt work (I am the second one here to do the chantix).
I no longer take chantix (took it for 6.5 weeks)

Be careful about those "why's".....it could be the junkie in you rushing the process!

One of my co-workers, I do not work with regularly, started Chantix before I did, she never would put the cigerates down, anotherwards she did not follow the directions....last time I saw her I asked how she was doing, she said the Chantix was sitting at the bottom of her purse.

She took the Chantix two weeks and remained smoke free? Wowee! Good for her! Thanks again for sharing those stats!

I dont think I will mess with a good thing, I dont care to have to take a pill to save my lungs...LOL If I have to take this shit the rest of my life I will! I have no care in the world if I grow 6 green heads!

Sorry I messed up, thought you were asking about failures.
Of the three that are off both one is female and took chantix for seven weeks and no side effects.

That's exactly why i want to hear it cindy.

I doubt very much if the chantix failed and your correct in that they probably didn't want to quit.

that's why i want him to type if it's the people or the chantix so people won't dismiss chantix reading this before they even start.
