There was a time when INSURANCE was used for what it was supposed to be-a single catastrophic event/hospitalization/procedur e and not a service plan. The demand for minor event and routine maintenance has really helped inflate the costs. The for profit insurance companies will gladly oblige those desires-for an additional fee of course.

The medical and insurance industry need to come up with a straight up service plan if the providers & patients want to use insurance like an extended warranty/service plan you buy on a new car or refrigerator.

First the delay to the individual mandate will expire, then the employer mandate and finally the cadillac plans afforded to the unions, donors to the party and friends to the administration.

Another Oblamer gift that will keep on giving if it survives.

<quoted text>It's called medicaid, it's for the low income or poor people. It's not the same as medicare, that's for the elderly people, they get put on it automatically when they turn 65.Anyway, we have friends that use medicaid, they work and his job offers insurance but they can't afford their payment share of it so use the Medicaid option and they don't hesitate to send them to any kind of specialist either. Sometimes I feel like they get better care than those that pay for Ins.
No!I myself would rather see a Doctor that prevents disease in the first place, but none that you mentioned do. They only want to manage it , so you keep coming back. Maybe Medicaid is only given to Mexicans because I have a freind that's white and he's not being paid enough but to poor for Obamacare but they won't let him have Medicaid either.

Yes, it would be nice if doctors could PREVENT disease.

Vaccines prevent disease, but you don't need a doctor for that. Most large chain pharmacies offer vaccines.

Having accessibility to clean water prevents disease, but most cities or private wells in the United States are pretty good at providing that.

Eating good quality food, washing your hands, not smoking or drinking to excess, getting exercise, sunshine and fresh air all PREVENT disease.

Unfortunately, doctors don't PREVENT disease; they only PRACTICE medicine, trying one drug or another to see what works. Or a surgeon who cuts this or that to see what works.

Once a person gets in that cycle of taking drugs for their 'condition', they NEED to keep 'seeing' a doctor who attempts to keep them alive with drugs. Seems as if doctors have become high priced DRUG PRESCRIBERS.

THE COST OF 2 CHEVY SONICS PER YEAR PLUS GAS AND INSURANCE , AND IN A FEW YEARS THE COST OF TWO CHEVY IMPALAS, AND IN A FEW YEARS LATER THE COST OF A NEW FREIGHTLINER WITH A CUMMING ENGINE PLUS SLEEPOVER CAB..hopefully the market will crash and a new scheme will appear , thats gonna fix everything .

Don't worry. The GOP is hard at work, making sure we no longer have clean water, or safe food, or opportunity to exercise, or fresh air.
