Guess they have to pay that ceo $10 million a year from somewhere, right? But that's okay with you right? In addition, the insurance companies have to pay for advertising, and adminstration (you know, those people that are paid bonuses to deny your care)? And you are a fool if you think that is the insurance company's profit. If you are capable of understanding them, maybe you should look at and insurance company's financial statements. You would see that their profit is no where near that because many people collect far more than their premiums. Do you understand what insurance is? It's an instrument to share cost and risk. Car, home and other insurance contracts work the same way. If you have car insurance and never file a claim are being ripped off? Of course not. I assume you are a govt employee, uneducated or have spent too much time in the FL sun.

Patrick wrote: Why are repugs so afraid of public health care? Maybe because they know they will never win another election if the Democratic Party is successful in finally giving the American people what we want? Guaranteed public health care like every single industrialized country in the world except the U.S. already has? More proof repugs care about themselves, not about America or the American people. We really should have done it after WW11 like Britain did. It's so difficult now because the insurance companies have become so powerful. They're spreading ridiculous rumors about long waits and substandard care when the reality is that they pity us our health care system. In my opinion we're the greatest nation on the planet but too stubborn by far when it comes to adopting a plan from someone else. If it's better we should do it.

As I said in a previous post, My information comes from people who live there. Like I said, Where is your proof? I think you are spreading rumors started by people that have an interest in keeping the status quo. Insurance companies.

I suppose you have them give you proof of their stories in some fashion? That's what I thought....like I said, you need to read more than blogs young lady.

I've known several of these people for more than 20 years (that's preinternet fella) and I trust what they have told me. It looks to me like you're getting your info from some crazy blog and spreading it around as fact. As I said, Where is your proof? Can you site any links or sources? I'm trying to find out the truth. If my friends are all in some kind of minority, I'd sure like to know about it. I want what is best for my country. But repeatedly telling me I'm wrong without giving me anything to go on is useless. My friends tell me they have a much better system. If you would like to say something different by all means give me a credible reason not to believe them.

A 3 billion dollar profit in 2008 may not equal a 12K margin, but id bet its around 65-75% of premiums. Rick wrote: <quoted text> Don't need to be. You and all your nerf ball friends who lie about something you don't know about are all wet(in your shorts). American style health care insurance is an expensive dinosaur that most Americans will soon not be able to afford. Rates, including mine, keep going up every year. The American system must be fixed. The Canadian system works. It's too bad that I can't get into it...just a little card in my wallet and no more worries. I'm amazed at the number of people that can be hoodwinked by blowhards like you.
