Fact check: Bill Clinton at the DNC

Sep 6, 2012 Full story: www.usatoday.com 28

Republicans will find plenty of Clinton's scorching opinions objectionable. But with few exceptions, we found his stats checked out.

Former president Bill Clinton's stem-winding nomination speech was a fact-checker's nightmare: lots of effort required to run down his many statistics and factual claims...

He gave a great speech. Very inspiring and very informative. He gave me a lot of information (more than Republicans did) and I appreciate that.

Right out of the gates all the Republicans did was start bashing Obama. Heck, we've heard that crap for the last four years. They did nothing to try to encourage me to change my opinion of them or vote for them.

Along come the Democrats and we get information and inspirational speeches and it's been so uplifting. Giving them my vote gets easier every day.

Most inspirational?
The recitation of President Obama's job creation record, and the fact that more than a million more NEW jobs would have been created; except that the GOP Congress BLOCKED THEM, for political reasons,(to try & show up the president; extending the Great bush Recession.)

That is, the GOP directly cost us more than a million jobs (1.3 to 1.9M) in this very slow recovery, just to politically spite Mr Obama.

'Tell me lies tell me sweet little lies' Bill please...Big liberal Bill Clinton proved time and again that he is the used cars salesman who can sell a wreck to the ignorant, illiterate and misinformed Americans. The question how many Americans still remember Bush who had to deal with the failed socialistic Pelosi-Reid ruled US Congress during his last two years 2007 and 2008 before Obama and two more years during Obama’s 2009 and 2010. Nevertheless, Bill Clinton failed to sell the broken America that is the true story of the Obama presidency even to the most illiterate and stupid Americans that might be still out there who do not suffer from the self destruction of America by Obama.

For the liars this year, just see Romney-Ryan, up to their ears in lies.

How will Romney cut taxes for wealthy and corporations, and not increase the deficit?

By cutting deductions the middle class use.

Politicians will tell you anything in order to get your vote. Just remember that.

Obama 4 years ago ran on change. But, the policies stayed the same with no real change.

Wars kept going and new ones were started without approval by Congress and the people.

The big mega banks were allowed to commit more fraud as long as guys like John Corzine brought in campaign contributions to Obama (more like bribes and pay offs, let's call it what it is. Were adults here).

Bush's freedom taking policies were extended and more were put onto the people.

Welcome the new boss, same as the old boss.

Professional politicians will sell their soul just for you to get them to vote for them.

Personally, I refuse to play the game anymore. Vote for yourself, at least that way it will have more meaning.

What you say is partially true; but there is a difference.

Romney will surely ruin our country, as Bush before him did.

People like you voted for Ralph Nader, because "...no difference between Bush and Gore..." BUT, there was a difference. A real, substantive difference.

So, if you are so discombobulated that you think Romney and Obama are the same; then write yourself in. But, remember, you are deluded.
I know that we have a permenant government; but I know also that there is a real differnce in how these two heads of it run our country.

You cannot vote for the lesser of two evils; but I cannot vote against the lesser of two evils, when surely we will be stuck with one of them no matter what we think.

By cutting spending, what really needs to be done. Corporate taxes are all paid by the poor and middle class, along with the associated compliance and inefficiency costs. High corporate taxes also keep poor and middle class unemployment high so that Democrats can get more votes from the entitlements class.

The more convoluted and contrived the statistics, the less applicable to real world and more difficult to challenge in a fact check exercise especially at hands of dummycrat journalists.

Fact Check: Bill Clinton inserted a cigar up Monica Lewinsky's vagina in the oval office.

Instead of a 'cool' president, this country needs a CAPABLE president-Mitt Romney.

Romney not only has to battle an incumbant president but a biased and slanted media.

'Mr Bill' is a prime example of that.

Always keep in mind: It's the ECONOMY, LACK OF JOBS, DEPENDENCE on FOREIGN ENERGY, HIGH COST OF FOOD, HIGH COST OF GAS, DEVALUED HOMES and a PRESIDENT WHO HAS DIVIDED OUR COUNTRY INSTEAD OF UNITING IT.

We need Obama ousted from office, democrat senators defeated.

Let 2010 happen through all races!

Bill Clinton stood in front of America last night and gave the speech of a lifetime(lied his azz off). With a straight face. It was a masterful performance, worthy of an Oscar. With it being common knowledge there is no love lost between the Clintons and Obama one can only surmise Bill didn't have the best interests of America in mind, only his standing in a political party. He KNOWS Obama's policies are detrimental yet he spoke glowingly of Obama for the sake of a party of charlatons, liars and theives to remain in power. Bill wants BACK in the White House and the only course open for him to return there is thru Hildabeast.

Publicly Clinton is backing Obama. In private he is voting for Romney. He REALLY hates Obama.

There is no help for Kool Ade drinkers. They like being told fairy tales. Grow up.

If there's anything more gut-wrenching than seeing a child with a serious health problem, it's seeing a politician take advantage of a child with a serious health problem.

Yet that's exactly what Barack Obama and the Democrat Party did to set the tone of their convention Tuesday night.

One of the first speakers at the DNC was Stacey Lihn, whose daughter was born with a life-threatening heart defect. Lihn delivered an emotional description of how Obamacare assured that her infant daughter, Zoe, would continue to receive treatment from their health insurance company for her daughter's medical condition, without financial limits. Lihn claimed that, after receiving two out of three required heart surgeries, Zoe was halfway to her insurance company's lifetime limit.

Essentially Barack Obama's handlers were using Lihn to say that Obama saved little two-year-old Zoe's life from a condition which, strangely, was not identified in the speech. At least in the speech's transcript. Elsewhere, the infant's condition has been detailed as hypoplastic left heart syndrome.

One reason for that omission may be that the condition is covered, on an expedited basis, by the Social Security Administration's Compassionate Allowance program, initiated during the Bush administration, and by Medicaid.

This family is not poor. The father is an attorney, specializing in personal injury, product defects and insurance litigation. They enjoy elaborate vacations and travel to follow their favorite sport teams. They elected to travel to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia for treatment for their child when Phoenix Children's was in their own back yard. The family has a blog which is an open book to their lives. If they can enjoy an above upper middle class lifestyle, why should the government cover their medical costs? Seems to me that personal responsibility with the family obtaining a good medical insurance policy and spending those medical costs wisely by using local facilities would be a better choice. Oh, and skip the fancy Hawaii vacation until after your kids are grown.

Bill Clinton isn't running, but Mitt Romney isn't fit to shine Clinton's shoes.

Romney is running against President Barak Obama, a president who has delvered, in spite of stonewalling from the GOP, and moronic jibberish from aswipes like you.

The real bias is the racism extant in the 'tea-bag' movement. The Libertarians now have your number, and are melting away from the baby Klanners.

The media is biased, true; but not hoe yo say. The mass media is owned by conservative corporstions, or extremist idealogues. I can't really blame you for your supreme ignorance, because you are intellectually lazy, and cannot get beyond the poison that FOXLIES feeds you.

You poor, hapless crank. ORmney is incompetant.

A lie. The GOP voted following party lines to sabatage many of Omama's programs.

If even a few Republicans had broken ranks, we would have a single payer option in the national healthcare program. That GOP bit of nastyness will cost us all $$$ BILLIONS.

Article 1 section 8. Powers granted to the Federal Government.

Nothing about healthcare in there. That falls under Amendment 10 states rights.

Try again. They don't have the authority.
